The 9 features of a perfect content writing environment | #Curation #Blogs #Creativity #Collaboration #ICT  | digital-education | Scoop.it
If you want to be a successful content marketer, you need to have the time, energy, and motivation to produce large volumes of high-quality work. Even the most naturally motivated writers may find themselves unable to move forward if they aren’t in an environment conducive to that production.

Ideally, you’ll be able to find, in general terms:

Inspiration: to stimulate your creativity and help you come up with more original ideas.

Focus: to keep you as productive as possible and minimize time waste.

Comfort: to reduce your stress levels (and risk of injury).
Collaboration: to keep you in close contact with other people.

Blogging About The Web 2.0 Connected Classroom: Why All Educators Need SAMR And TPACK | digital-education | Scoop.it
On its surface technology can make learning more fun and engaging. Allowing students to create podcasts or work on websites, write blog posts or use 3-D printers certainly engages students and shows them what is possible. However, what is lacking from many of the discussions is what pedagogical impacts the use of technology can have on learning. Moreover, if there isn’t a clear understanding of what types of activities promote the most student gains, then the use of technology is just flashy and in some cases, makes learning less effective.

By maximizing the multiple and diverse resources available, we can rethink the traditional model of professional learning to chart unique pathways and reach desired goals. Valuing the differences in teachers and immersing them in learner-centered experiences in professional learning is an essential lever that will allow educators to design similar learning experiences for the students they teach.

Peer or Self-Assessment? Benefits and Challenges

Peer or Self-Assessment? Benefits and Challenges | digital-education | Scoop.it
The benefits of peer and self-assessment are numerous and incontrovertible. However, students must have access to official mark schemes and model answers for the process to work properly, and they must be involved in actually correcting their work (not just ‘ticking’ and ‘crossing’ and working out a score/percentage).

Students need to be trained in proper peer-assessment. Do not tolerate over-generosity: collect the work in afterwards and double-check that it was marked properly.

Engage Students with Flipped Video Tasks

Engage Students with Flipped Video Tasks | digital-education | Scoop.it
One of the major criticisms of this method though is that a dull unengaging content doesn't suddenly become engaging because it's on a video on the web, so how do we get students to engage with the content and make sure they watch it in a challenging and interactive way.

Vialogues is a useful tool for attempting to do this (though dull content will always be dull) because it enables you to create interaction around the video that actually gets students to think about and engage with the content.
