25 Energy-Packed Snack Balls That Will Jump-Start Your Day

25 Energy-Packed Snack Balls That Will Jump-Start Your Day | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it

Great balls of fire! Getting that energy boost in a yummy snack ball is so much better than downing some “energy” drink filled with caffeine. These tasty snack balls will fuel you up and give you the energy to get through your day.

Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know you can make really easy, raw, delicious, no sugar energy balls from plant based protein real whole food sources? Raw nuts, seeds, plant based protein powders, some dried fruit, coconut, and some green tea varieties are all you need.

When you cook any food you lose all or most of the nutrients. You also eliminate the oxygen molecule in it which creates higher levels of sugar. This information comes from Brian Clement, LN, co-director of Hippocrates Health Institute.

Skip the honey and maple syrup. Most honey you buy today in the U.S. is refined and full of pesticides. Honey contains 30 percent sucrose (table sugar) and 40 percent fructose. Fructose is metabolized in the liver and is more fat producing.  Maple syrup is 60 percent sucrose.

Health Tips:

Your best choice is to make a raw treat, eat one or two a day, and share with others. Many of these energy balls listed in the article can be made raw with a few tweaks.

In place of the honey and maple syrup listed use a small handful of dried raisins, dates, or figs. You can also add a few drops of organic liquid Stevia. You won’t taste the Stevia if you just add a few drops.

You can also add a sweeter flavor by using raw carob, cinnamon, mint leaves, cardamom, vanilla beans, or a few cloves. Your tastebuds change within a few weeks of eating completely plant based real whole food, no processed or animal products. You will find that you absolutely love the taste of what food was meant to taste like.

Toxic Chocolate —

Toxic Chocolate — | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
If you have a sweet tooth, you may have read studies talking about the health benefits associated with eating moderate amounts of chocolate. But our research has found a potential health risk in popular chocolate products that’s been flying under the radar – many chocolates contain toxic metals like
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that many of your favorite chocolate products have been found to have high levels of toxic cadmium and lead? For the full list click on the link in the article.

Independent laboratory testing has been done by As You Sow for 120 chocolate products. Notices have been filed with 20 of these companies for failing to warn consumers of the inherent dangers of heavy metal consumption.

No level of lead is safe for anyone, especially children. Lead causes neurological health problems. Cadmium is known to cause reproductive harm. It can also cause damage to the kidneys, liver, and bones.

Companies need to take action to remove these dangerous chemicals. Companies also need to warn consumers of the harm their product can cause. The FDA needs to better regulate these industries.

And on another note many companies use child laborers to pick the beans for the chocolate. This is unconscionable.

Health Tips:

Eat safe organic chocolate that is not on the list sparingly. Chocolate is a stimulant and for many people it can cause anxiety, jitters, sleeplessness, and other health issues.

Don’t buy chocolate that contains sugar. Most brands use sugar. Be a discerning consumer and demand brands reduce and eliminate sugar from the chocolate. Sugar is addictive and leads to inflammation which leads to chronic diseases.

Stirs the Soul chocolate company in Portland, OR sells chocolate that is safe to eat. It is powered by only 1 date, no evaporated cane sugar, no agave, or any other sweetener.

Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that sugar no matter which kind is an addictive sweet poison that is dangerous for your body’s health? Heavy fruit sugar feeds cancer more than any other food. This information from Brian Clement, PhD, LN

When you reduce the oxygen by just one-third you start to get cancer cells in your body. This scientific body of evidence comes from Otto Warburg, a Nobel Prize winner.

The average fruit today is 30 times sweeter than it a generation ago. This means it has 30 times more sugar in it. Your pancreas gets destroyed. Stanford University and the University of California agree with this information.

Most fruit is not picked when ripe, but picked ahead of time and ripens on the truck to your store. You want to eat only ripe fruit.

The Summer is a good time to pick berries, grapes. Pick just before falling to the ground apples, pears, and other fruit in the Fall.

Health Tips:

Eat only a small serving of organic fruit daily if you are healthy. if you have a chronic health problem, avoid fruit. Eat low sugar fruits as in zucchini, cucumber, squash, and cranberry seeds.

If you want to add some sweet to your food, use organic liquid Stevia. Stevia is not a sugar. You can also add raw carob, cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla bean.

The more plant based real whole raw and slightly steamed food you eat your tastebuds will change. You will then enjoy the taste of what food really is about. When your tastebuds change you won’t be having that sugar craving.

For those of you who do experience sugar craving, take chlorella, high protein algae. It will stop your cravings.

Does Sugar Cause Diabetes?

Does Sugar Cause Diabetes? | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
The recent film What the Health raised the question as to whether sugar or other carbohydrates cause diabetes. Because blood sugar levels are high in diabetes, a common notion has held that eating sugar somehow triggers the disease process.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that although sugar and other sweeteners may not be the main driver of diabetes type 2, sugar is still a sweet poison with no nutrients that leads to inflammation and that added fructose in the form of table sugar and high fructose corn syrup leads to liver toxicity, weight gain, chronic stress, and many other diseases? This information is from Dr Michael Greger,

www.nutritionfacts.org

For those of you with any chronic disease consuming sugar and even high amounts of fruit is not recommended by Brian Clement, PhD in Nutrition, LD, co-director of Hippocrates Health Institute. Healthy people can consume fresh fruit. Fruit today is double to triple the sweetness than it was 100 years ago.

Unwanted weight leads to heart disease, tumor growth, cancer, diabetes, and other health problems. Consumption of sugar as well as animal based food, processed food, fast food, too much sodium, unhealthy fats, and oils are associated with inflammation leading to disease states.

Health Tips:

Consume plant based real whole food consisting of protein rich sprouts, dark greens, cruciferous veggies, land and sea veggies, legumes (beans, peas, lentils which can be sprouted), whole ancient grains (quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, millet which can be sprouted), and some fresh fruit. Also add algae such as chlorella and spirulina.

Take vitamin D3 and B-12 as well as plant based omega 3s. Fish oil is cancer causing, creates more heart, prostrate disease, oils become rancid after taken out of water. This last information is from Brian Clement www.hippocrateshealthinst.org

Chlorella is high in protein and the tabs will help to stop your sugar cravings. Consuming more dark greens is important for your body as chlorophyll is the best whole body purifier and it neutralizes free radicals leading to inflammation.

Kids in America consume 50,000 pounds of sugar every 5 minutes. Here's what you can do about it

Kids in America consume 50,000 pounds of sugar every 5 minutes. Here's what you can do about it | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
KIND snacks dumped 50,000 pounds of sugar in Times Square to show how much of the sweet stuff kids in America consume every 5 minutes.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that kids in the U.S. are eating 13.1 pounds of added sugar every day and 79 percent of their parents don’t know what added sugars are?

Sugar the toxic sweet poison and deceptive marketing keep adding more unsuspecting, unaware people.

Sugar causes inflammation in your body and too much causes chronic inflammation leading to chronic diseases (pre-diabetes, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, and more).

Sugar has no nutrients, no fiber and cannot be used by your body.

Health Tips:
If you’re really serious and committed to stop your sugar overload, you can and will succeed.

Clean out your cabinets/pantry.Then stop or greatly reduce your purchasing of processed foods which are loaded with too much sugars, sodium, additives, and other questionable ingredients, even GMOs. Buy only real whole plant based food.

Eliminate or greatly reduce your consumption of so called healthy sugars like honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, lucuma, and even dried fruit. Dried fruit is acidic and can rot your teeth with over consumption.

If you’re relatively healthy, you can eat some raw ripe fruit. If you have a chronic disease or other disease, it’s best to limit or not eat any fruit.

Start eating more sweeter veggies like sweet potatoes, carrots, beets, squashes and pair these with dark green leafy veggies and cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, bok choy, radish, etc.). Your Paleolithic ancestors ate dark greens and tubers (root veggies).

Your body hasn’t really changed in millennia so it doesn’t know what to do with all that processed fake food you keep eating. This type of non food cannot be utilized by your body for its processes, but what it does is cause all your health problems.

Fake processed food you say. Yes this type of non-food consists of sugars, ending in ‘ose’ (maltose, dextrose etc). Any chemical, artificial, synthetic made in a lab is fake food. Real food comes from the soil.

For your cravings, take chlorella, a high protein algae which definitely works. Buy organic.

For your kids, introduce them to green smoothies. You can add nuts, nut butters, avocado, maybe some raw cacao or raw carob, cinnamon, some ginger, some mint leaves, and one fruit they like or one new fruit. It’s best not to mix your greens/veggies, and fruits together.

You can also create a sweet potato smoothie and some carrots. Or a beet smoothie. For yourself or your older kids you can either juice greens with ginger or make a totally green smoothie and add a few drops of organic liquid Stevia if the taste isn’t quite what your tastebuds want.

As you slowly start adding more greens to your meals and phase away the sugars, your tastebuds will adapt and soon within 2-3 weeks you won’t even be able to tolerate what you previously ate in sweets.

Popular "Diet" Ingredient Now Linked to Leukemia and Lymphoma in New Landmark Study on Humans | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
Increased risk for leukemia in men and women, and for multiple myelom
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that artificial sweeteners contain chemicals that poison your body and that drinking just one 12 ounce diet soda a day with aspartame has been found to increase leukemia, multiple myeloma, and non-Hodgkin lymphomas?

The article states that diet soda is the largest dietary source of aspartame in the U.S.

This study was done with humans. Others were performed on animals. This subscriber does not approve of any studies done on animals.

Whether you are consuming artificial sweeteners or other types of sugar be advised that these substances have no nutritional benefits and therefore your body can’t utilize them.

These poisonous carcinogenic substances do not constitute real food and create more acidity in your body which leads to major health issues and chronic diseases.

Health Tips: Drink pure filtered water with lemon/lime slices or frozen berries. Make yourself some hibiscus tea and add unsweetened cranberry juice.

Make a healthy golden turmeric latte. Drink green juices or even green smoothies. Drink herbal non pesticide teas or green tea.

Find what you like and make that your go to beverage. Just stop subsidizing the cola companies bottom line because your bottom line will be impacted in a not favorable way if you continue drinking these sweet poisons.

Avoid These Drinks to Help Prevent Brain Shrinkage, Dementia, and Strokes

Avoid These Drinks to Help Prevent Brain Shrinkage, Dementia, and Strokes | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
Smaller brain volume and poorer memory are linked in two recent studies with soda consumption – including of the supposedly healthier "diet" kind.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that consumption of just one artificially sweetened sugary beverage a day can increase your risk of Alzheimer’s Disease and stroke? Let’s face it: sugar in any form is not your friend.

New research keeps showing that all types of sugar, the sweet poison harms your body, by decimating your gut, creating addiction, messing with your brain’s reward system and memory, increasing chronic inflammation, spiking your blood sugar, increasing your blood pressure, harming your liver, and helping you get sick, tired, fat, and foggy.

Health Tips: More and more people like you are getting off the sugar roller coaster and taking back their health. Decide today to eat less or no processed foods, junk foods, and fast food. These type of foods are loaded with sugar and other chemicals you’re body doesn’t recognize and can't use.

Food manufacturers use ingredients which are derivatives of sucrose. Many of these ingredients end in the letters “ose”. If you see these on the label. best to not buy.

Fructose is now being used in place of high fructose corn syrup. It’s all the same, a lab created poison to be avoided. And fructose goes directly to your liver and is stored as fat.

Even so called healthy sugars: maple syrup, raw honey, coconut sugar, and dried fruit when eaten in large amounts daily/weekly/monthly cause damage to your body. Too much dried fruit harms your teeth as it is acidic.

Organic liquid Stevia, a few drops, raw carob, cinnamon, cardamom, cayenne (yes) are healthy ingredients you can use to give just a sweet burst of flavor to your goodies.

More Than 10 Percent of World’s Population Is Obese, Study Finds

More Than 10 Percent of World’s Population Is Obese, Study Finds | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
A study in The New England Journal of Medicine showed that the problem had swept the globe, including regions that historically had food shortages.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that obesity is now at epidemic proportions in the world? You do know that the type of food that is consumed is the principal driver of whether someone is obese or not.

Processed foods as well as high amounts of sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats are what’s causing the obesity crisis. The idea that seems to be prevalent is that healthy food costs more than unhealthy food.

Buying healthy even organic food in bulk is one of the most inexpensive ways to save money at the grocery store in the U.S. Unfortunately many people in the U.S. have never learned to cook from scratch, meaning cooking food not from a packaged box.

Many people are unaware that there are foods such as legumes (beans, peas, lentils) which are high in healthy protein and easy to cook. A pound of beans, peas or lentils is anywhere from $3,99 to $1,19 a pound. A pound of these legumes can make ten or more meals.

Vegetables are not expensive when purchased loose and one can eat as many vegetables as possible and never gain any weight. A bag of apples can cost $4.99 a pound. Apples or other fruit with some nuts or nut butter is a far healthier meal than any fast food or junk food.

Yes it’s true that some people live in what’s known as food deserts. However they can always buy online or drive to another town to get some healthier food. There are always ways to accomplish what is needed.

Just because people always ate a certain way doesn’t mean you have to follow the herd, you can branch out and create your own healthy eating formula. Be willing to try something new if it means your health can improve.

Health Tips: Consuming real whole plant based food is a no brainer for all the health benefits you get to experience.

From energy, glowing skin, better sleep, weight loss, less visits to your doctor to one time a year appointment to the doctor, less or no prescription drugs, more time for things you enjoy, money saved, and self knowledge that you now know your body best.

You can now enjoy life, enjoy exercising, play with your kids/grandkids, pets and have fun. Life is meant to be lived fully and you can experience all of this when you wake up to what kind of food you’re eating on a daily basis.

8 Things That Happen to Your Body When You Eat Sugar

8 Things That Happen to Your Body When You Eat Sugar | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
By revving the brain's reward and appetite center, fructose can interfere with feelings of satiety and can damage organs and tissue.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that sugar, an addictive sweet poison that messes with your brain’s reward center and leads to chronic diseases is not your friend?

Sugar harms your gut bacteria, your brain, your immune system, your liver, your kidneys, your pancreas, your heart, your vision, and your cells.

Over consumption of sugar, fructose, artificial sweeteners, processed, so called healthy sugars and unripe fruit all contribute to the sugar disaster.

Consumption of white processed flours, breads, pancakes, pasta, and over eating of white potatoes and white rice, as well as other simple carbs which have little to no fiber (crackers, chips, pastries, cakes, cookies, donuts, snacks) speed the absorption of glucose into your bloodstream eventually causing a sugar crash.

Health Tips: Eat real whole plant based foods rich in fiber which slow the progression of sugars in your bloodstream. Both soluble and insoluble fiber help you manage your blood sugar.

Insoluble is the roughage component of greens, veggies, fruits., and whole grains. These foods fill you up without causing weight gain.

Soluble fiber is found in oats, legumes (beans, split peas, lentils), nuts, seeds. Foods high in soluble fiber delay the rate at which your stomach empties , slowing the digestion of sugar and starches, while controlling blood sugar spikes.

Make sure to eat some plant based proteins and healthy fat with your fiber rich foods. If you’re relatively healthy, then consuming some ripe fruit is a wise choice.

Nuts/seeds and butters go well with ripe fruit. Avocado is a low sugar fruit as is tomato, cucumber, zucchini, and lemons, limes.

Daily consumption of sodas, fruit juices and artificially sweetened sodas affect brain

Daily consumption of sodas, fruit juices and artificially sweetened sodas affect brain | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
Data from the Framingham Heart Study (FHS) has shown that people who more frequently consume sugary beverages such as sodas and fruit juices are more likely to have poorer memory
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that daily consumption of sodas, artificially sweetened beverages, and fruit juices can cause brain atrophy, poor memory, and risk for developing stroke and dementia? Excessive sugar of any kind is deadly for your health and well-being.

Not only does artificial sweeteners affect your brain, but they also harm your gut micro biome. Aspartame consumption causes a variety of symptoms including anxiety attacks, slurred speech, depression, and migraines. These sweeteners also have an effect on regulating appetite.

Sugar and all its derivatives contain no necessary fiber, no nutrients, are inflammatory, are highly addictive, and have a direct influence on you getting chronic diseases, including diabetes type 2, cardiovascular disease, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, cancer, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.

Sugar also affects your immune and digestive systems and can lead to more health issues, including Candida, Irritable bowel disease/syndrome, and others.

Health Tips: Ear real whole plant based food. Sugar and processed food is not real food, no matter how it’s dressed up. Plant foods are anti-inflammatory, are fiber rich, nutrient rich, and are the food your body requires to function optimally.

Why do you crave sugar? There may be more than one reason. You do have sweet receptors in your tongue, but these are for starches/tubers which your evolutionary ancestors ate iPaleolithic times. Today sweet potatoes and whole ancient grains fill the bill.

Another reason could be that magnesium levels in your body may be low. This information comes from Dr Flavin, a physician from Germany who concentrates on cancer research. She also teaches in the U.K. and is the author of “Metabolic Danger of High Fructose Corn syrup”.

Add more spices, including cinnamon, cardamon, cayenne, ginger, as well as vanilla bean, and use organic liquid stevia for your sweeter flavor enhancer (just 3 drops). Eat ripe fruit, one or two pieces is plenty.

Which Crops Are Genetically Modified?

Which Crops Are Genetically Modified? | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
Well, when others won’t take responsibility for what they are doing, when the authorities drop the ball, the onus falls on us to avoid becoming the victims of their misdeeds. We know what foods to avoid:
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that most processed foods contain genetically modified organisms (GMO’s) in the form of chemicals, pesticides, and other known toxins? Almost all conventional soy, corn, cottonseed, corn, and canola oils are GMO. Papaya and some zucchini, yellow squash are genetically modified as well.

You also have to watch out for genetically modified sugar beets which are used for sugar. Sometimes corn is used as well. Best to avoid any sugar or artificial sweeteners as your body reacts negatively to these types of food.

Health Tips:

Getting Energy from Vegetables: How to Burn More Fat and Less Sugar

Getting Energy from Vegetables: How to Burn More Fat and Less Sugar | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
When the body burns a higher amount of fat reserves than sugar, it provides longer lasting energy, enhances endurance, and aids in weight loss.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that sugar can come from fruit and from artificial sources, including processed , junk, baked, and fast food? Sugar when ingested everyday every year can be toxic to your body.

Sugar can be addictive and cause inflammation which leads to many chronic diseases. Your body burns for fuel both fat and sugar. When sugar is burned you get a short burst of energy and then you feel fatigued, have low energy, and may feel jittery, anxious.

You want to burn fat not sugar. If you have any disease, it’s best to avoid any kind of sugar, even fruit.

Health tips:

Consuming a complete plant based real whole food lifestyle with no sugar, no processed food, no junk and fast food helps prevent disease and keeps your body functioning optimally. Healthy people can eat a small amount of fresh whole fruit daily.

Zucchini, cucumber, squashes, tomatoes, and avocado are some low sugar fruits to eat. Be aware that today’s fresh beets and carrots have three-fourths more sugar than a generation ago.

Sweet potatoes are one of the best veggies to consume. Steam or spiralize raw. You can make veggie noodles using zucchini, cucumber, squashes, sweet potato, carrots, and beets.

Best to reduce your intake of white potatoes, pasta, refined grains which convert to sugar in your body. You can eat sprouted organic grains, such as millet, quinoa, buckwheat, amaranth.

Which Fruits Have the Most Sugar? | Care2 Healthy Living

Which Fruits Have the Most Sugar? | Care2 Healthy Living | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
Fruit is an important, and delicious, part of our diet. Full of fiber, antioxidants and other phytochemicals, fresh fruit is a great source of sustainable
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that different kinds of fruit have differing amounts of sugar, the sweet poison? There are certain medical doctors who say that the fructose in fruit, especially from the berry family doesn’t cause or lead to the debilitating health issues that other forms of sugar do. This is because of the fiber content in fruit.

Yet there is a growing body of wellness doctors and certain hospitals that advocate for minimizing the consumption of fruit and recommend eating the seeds of fruit instead and also eating low sugar fruits which most people refer to as veggies.

If you are relatively healthy then a little whole raw fruit is considered fine to eat. However if you have a chronic disease then eating fruit is not recommended by these professionals.

Health Tips:

You decide for yourself for your body. Consuming one small bowl of berries or one other fruit of your choice a few times a week or everyday might be fine, especially if you are refraining from eating any processed, junk sugary foods.

Even though pomegranate is listed in the last group of fruits having highest sugar content, it usually is okay to eat because you’re sucking on the seeds, not eating any pulp. Many times pomegranates are sweet, but other times they are tart like cranberries. The tart ones are very good for you.

Consuming low sugar fruits like lemons, limes, avocados, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, cranberries (without added sugar), and rhubarb (without added sugar) is fine anytime.

Multiple Studies Show that Sugar is Linked to Depression

Multiple Studies Show that Sugar is Linked to Depression | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
If you seek better long-term psychological health, lowering your intake of sugar may be a beneficial preventative measure against depression.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that sugar, the sweet poison has been linked to depression and mental health issues? Is it any wonder knowing that this addictive substance has no fiber, no nutrients of any usable kind?

The human body requires fiber, vitamins, minerals, plant phyto chemicals, enzymes, and antioxidants to function properly. Without these your body systems clog up, inflammation occurs, and disease spreads.

When speaking of sugar, all types are included. Processed foods contain copious amounts of sugar and hidden sugars, sodium, and other lab created chemical substances that harm your body. Canned foods often times contain too much sugar and definitely too much sodium.

Artificial sweeteners, fructose, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, milk sugars (lactose), so called healthy sugars are all included. Even over consumption of dried fruit can harm your body and rot your teeth.

You often hear people say they are reaching for comfort foods. Comfort foods traditionally are the simple carbs as in breads, pastries, cookies, pies, pizzas, pastas, candy, diet and regular sodas, caffeinated sugar beverages, ice creams

These foods cause roller coaster blood sugar problems, i.e. crash and burn. You may feel pretty good for awhile and then you become fatigued, anxious, and moody. Daily consumption 365 days of the year will have a depressive effect on your body over time.

Overconsumption of sugars can lead to/cause obesity, predates, full blown diabetes type 2, high blood pressure and arterial dysfunction, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, problems with Candida, irritable bowel, and other major health issues.

Health tips:
The only way you can effect change to happen is for you to make that change. If you truly want to get off that sugar roller coaster then you have to clean out your cabinets/pantry.

You have to eliminate your sugar habit by taking chlorella tabs overtime you get a huge craving for something sweet.

Your tastebuds will adapt over 2-3 weeks. Start adding more dark greens to your meals.

Use spices for flavor and zing. Eat more or all plant based real whole foods, add sprouts, ancient grains, nuts/seeds, legumes (beans, peas, lentils). Buy organic as much as possible to avoid pesticides, chemicals, and GMOs.

When you are healthy again, then you can add some ripe fresh fruit to your meals. The fruit one eats today is more than double the sweetness of fruit that grew 100 years ago.

San Francisco Spoils Chocolate Milk For Kids | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
Can't blame this one on tech bros.

Sugar IS fuelling various forms of cancer

Sugar IS fuelling various forms of cancer | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
University of Texas at Dallas researchers have shown that squamous cell carcinoma, which can be found in the lungs, cervix and oesophagus, thrives off high amounts of glucose.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that the sweet poison, sugar is one of the main drivers of cancer as it is giving tumors energy they require to thrive and multiply? New research is confirming age ld beliefs.

Scientists from University of Texas at Dallas found that Squamous cell carcinoma (SqCC) apparently is more dependent on sugar to grow. This type of cancer can be found in the lungs, head, neck, oesophagus, and cervix.

Read the article for the all the details.

As you have read ion this site, you now know that sugar messes with your brain’s reward center, harms your liver, your gut, your pancreas, your heart, and your digestive system. Sugar basically leads to chronic inflammation which in turn leads to disease states.

Most chronic diseases start in childhood and if there is no change in the type of food, lifestyle by the individual, disease can show up years later and wreak havoc on the body.

Most people still are unaware that their food choices and their lifestyle habits affect their body’s health, behavior, attitude, even thoughts, and moods. You and your body are connected. What you put in and on your body does indeed affect your health and well-being.

Mainstream medicine has been slow to acknowledge this information as most physicians only get 12-24 hours of nutrition training. the other main factor is that the pharmaceutical industry is heavily tied to the American Medical Association (AMA) and the ubiquitous FDA.

Health Tips: Many people tell this subscriber they are trying to slow down their addictive need for all things sweet. This problem is exasperated by the Food Marketing Industry which pushes sweets in every direction. And then there’s the word “moderation” bandied about.

Folks, wake up if you can’t stop getting your daily fix of sugar, there is NO moderation for you. This principle applies to most people, especially in the U.S. and other Western nations.

Taking Chorella tabs does help with sugar cravings. Chorella is high protein which your body needs in this instance.

For some people the Swap or substitution of less sweet ingredients works. For others, it doesn’t work.

Some people like this subscriber can slowly wean themselves off all sugars. Yes all sugar, which includes artificial, fructose, hidden, and so called healthy.

When you do take the leap, your tastebuds automatically change within three weeks and what once wasn’t sweet enough is now off the charts in sweetness. You begin to prefer bitter over sweet.

Bitter as in the taste of dark leafy greens and cruciferous veggies which taste delicious with some turmeric, black pepper, mustard green powder, and nutritional yeast. Try it for yourself.

Use of herbs and spices is highly recommended. Your tastebuds will be in food heaven trying cinnamon, cardamon, carob, cayenne, ginger, turmeric, cumin, oregano, saffron, and others.

How Sugar Makes You Sick

How Sugar Makes You Sick | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
To understand how sugar can wreak havoc on your health, take a closer look at how it’s metabolized in the body.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that sugar, the addictive sweet poison wreaks havoc on your health?

As you’ve read many on this site, sucrose (table sugar) is made up of glucose, used for energy in your muscles and organs and fructose. Fructose is metabolized by your liver and herein lies the problem.

Fructose is stored in your liver as fat and when ingested in excess every day causes metabolic syndrome, ‘an inflammatory fat storage disorder’. Metabolic syndrome includes obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol.

Your pancreas has its own share of health problems as it can become worn out over time and become inefficient. Stage right, enter Diabetes type 2.

High fructose intake also creates non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) which is at epidemic levels today. Excess fat damages your liver as does excess alcohol. NAFLD wasn’t even a disease 35 years ago. This disease affects both adults and children.

Excess sugar consumption causes inflammation which leads to chronic diseases, including heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, and others. Isn’t it time for you to make a choice, to do everything you can to get off this sugar roller coaster?

Health Tips:  Sugar, processed foods, fast foods, and junk foods definitely contribute to the sugar disaster. Inflammatory food, including the above mentioned foods and animal based also contribute as they increase your risk of chronic diseases, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Eating a complete (no processed food) plant based real whole food regimen helps you maintain good weight, gives you energy, focus, helps you sleep through the night, helps with skin disorders, helps your digestion, your heart, your immune system, your liver/kidneys, and every organ system in your body.

There are no side effects . This isn’t a diet, it’s a lifestyle, one that can make all the difference for you. Healthy and fit or sick and fat.

Dates and Your Health: the Ideal Food or a Sugary Nightmare?

Dates and Your Health: the Ideal Food or a Sugary Nightmare? | Dangers of sugar consumption | Scoop.it
Why do many people who choose to eliminate excess sugars from their lifestyle still consume dates? Well, it seems that dates are naturally rich in nutrition despite being rich in fructose, so there’s a trade-off. Some even consider dates the most ideal food.
Sandi Cornez's insight:

Did you know that even though dates are loaded with nutrition they also contain fructose and have a high glycemic index meaning consuming a few once in awhile may be okay?

However, eating more than one or two a day might not be so healthy. Fructose goes directly to your liver where it's stored as fat.

Who do you know that eats just a few dates at one sitting? Not many people as dates are oh so deliciously sweet.

Another one or two won’t hurt, you may be thinking. Guess again. As the article states dates are 80 percent pure sugar.

One cup or more of dates in a recipe is a lot of dates to be ingesting in a week or less. Too much dried fruit is not good for your teeth.

The choice to eat loads of dates or not is ultimately yours. Yes it is better to consume whole food as opposed to refined processed sugary foods, artificial sweeteners, and even so called healthy sugars with some nutrients.

However over consumption of any food is not healthy and can lead to health issues.

Health Tips: Eat a few dates once in awhile. The first two bites are always the most pleasurable. Now you can walk away feeling good, not guilty.

If a recipe calls for one or two cups of dates, try using one quarter of a cup and a few drops of organic liquid Stevia. Your tastebuds will adapt to a more natural less sweeter taste and in a few weeks, you won’t even notice the difference.

Choose fresh whole ripe fruit for a lovely dessert with some nut butters.
