Summary of the Article (Who, what, when, where, how and why ?)

This is article is mainly about publicising Australian Dance Theatre for  people to go and watch the show at Her Majesty's Theatre  as it is renowned for it's cutting edge explorations into the boarders of contemporary dance. Through this article it is evident that Be Yourself, is not an easily digestible piece of dance theatre, and some of its ‘wow’ factor is be credited to having a very large budget to play with. Choreographer ,Garry Stewart is interviewed and is known for his  passion for film and multimedia in which has taken the company from strength to strength.

Is it publicity for a performance? … If so what kind ? (festival, educational institution performance, an independent project?)

Yes, in my opinion this article is publicising ADT for a performance as  the date, venue and ticket price are clearly displayed at the bottom of the page. From a readers perspective it does look like the Australian Dance Theatre is an independent project in which showcases their talents on a regular basis, from seeing their page on the internet.

Is the article an editorial? What is the breaking news ?

No, this article is not a editorial and there is no breaking news, it just  simply promotes the Australian Dance Theatre on a very high level in which grasps the viewers attention and hopefully brings them to the different pieces and especially Be Yourself in which ADT have to offer.

Is there a picture? What is it ?

Yes, there is a picture attached to the article in which displays 8 different dancers in which are apart of the Be Yourself cast all standing in formation with their costumes on and in character.

" Whereas,  Holland didn’t think he knew that it was going to happen (being eliminated) , but he definitely considered it because he wasn’t able to show the judges anything because of his injury. 'SYTYCD' choreographer Stacey Tookey keeps creative fire burning

'SYTYCD' choreographer Stacey Tookey keeps creative fire burning | Dance Articles | Scoop.it
The acclaimed choreographer reflects on the talent in Season 9, her Emmy-nomination and her new dance company.
Ariane Salomone's insight:

Name of Article:

"SYTYCD" choreographer Stacey Tookey keeps creative fire burning.

Page number of the article:

 N/A

Date of the Article:

 9/6/2012

Summary of the Article (Who, what, when, where, how and why ?)

This is article refers to the creativity of choreographer Stacey Tookey and the fact that it has to be so unique and different  in Season 9 of SYTYCD, her Emmy- nomination and her new dance company. Stacey finds this year that she has to push herself in terms of creativity within her dance pieces as there have been hundreds and hundreds of dance routines on the last nine seasons of SYTYCD and all of them have to be unique and individual. Tookey says its helps having competitors with such a wide range of backgrounds. She says because competitors are so different, you end up pushing yourself and your own creativity trying to use the dancers and their talents. Tookey also notes that, working outside the "guy and girl" pairing it can be more challenging to come up with choreographic narrative concepts as it is so much easier having the "romantic" storyline. This forces Tookey as the choreographer to push herself in a different way.

Tookey also finds it challenging having so much dance on t.v for example, "Smash" and "Dancing with the stars" and "So you think you can dance" as everyone is raising the bar so you need new and exciting pieces all the time in which grasps the viewers attention.

Is it publicity for a performance? … If so what kind ? (festival, educational institution performance, an independent project?)

No, this isn't an article in which publicises a performance. In my opinion it informs the viewer of such great standard that SYTYCD has of their choreographers in which fascinates them and then they will then want to go and watch the seasons.

Is the article an editorial? What is the breaking news ?

Yes, this article is an editorial in which the breaking news is that of choreographer Stacey Tookey keeps creative and her fire burning.

Is there a picture? What is it ?

The picture that this article includes is a headshot of choreographer Stacey Tookey from So You Think You Can Dance.
