Chaque Angelino s'anime au passage d\'un mot prédéfini pour chaque danseuse, 12 mots, extrait du texte l’annonciation à Marie, évangile selon saint Luc chapitre 1, 26-38. Un Angelino est une danseuse contenue dans une bouteille musicale connectée à internet. Chaque danseuse s’anime, selon une partition, si un des mots prédéfinis est détecté sur le flux des publications « twitter ».

"Life Spacies" is an interaction and communication space, where remotely located visitors can interact with each other through evolutionary forms and images.

"Life Spacies" enables visitors to integrate themselves into a 3 dimensional complex virtual world of artificial life organisms that react to the visitors body movement, motion and gestures. The artificial life creatures also communicate with each other and so create an artificial universe, where real and artificial life are closely interrelated through interaction and exchange.

A "Life Spacies" web page allows people all over the world to interact with the system as well: by simply typing and sending an email message to the "Life Spacies" web site, one can create one's own artificial creature. The creature will then starts to live in the "Life Spacies" environment at the ICC's museum, where the on-site visitors directly will interact with it.

In 1996, "The Digital Hijack", was initiated as a provocative project which dealt with the hidden hierarchies on the net and was supposed to awaken the user from his long sleep without critism towards the information on the WWW. Haples users who were using search engines to look for topics about Porsche, lifestyle, Madonna, or Penthouse were suddenly confronted with a screen which read: "DON'T FUCKING MOVE- THIS IS A DIGITAL HIJACK".

For the 49, Biennale in Venice, Franco and Eva Mattes programmed a virus with the name Biennale.py (py for Python, a programming language), which started spreading from the Slovenian pavillion on June 6th, 2001, the opening day. The first art project with a computer virus: the activity was transparent and had been announced beforehand. The source code was printed on a 3x4m big banner and hung in front of the Slovenian pavillion. It was also sent to all companies that sold antivirus software. Th virus was consciously conceived as one that was supposed to survice but not destroy. With this performance, the artists wanted to show how media hysterics can deliberately be provoked.

This work commenced in March of 2006, to roughly coincide with the 3rd anniversary of the start of the Iraq conflict. I enter the online US Army recruiting game, "America's Army", in order to manually type the name, age, service branch and date of death of each service person who has died to date in Iraq. The work is essentially a fleeting, online memorial to those military personnel who have been killed in this ongoing conflict. My actions are also intended as a cautionary gesture.

I enter the game using as my login name, "dead-in-iraq" and proceed to type the names using the game's text messaging system. As is my usual practice when creating such an intervention, I am a neutral visitor as I do not participate in the proscribed mayhem. Rather, I stand in position and type until I am killed. After death, I hover over my dead avatar's body and continue to type. Upon being re-incarnated in the next round, I continue the cycle.

As of 6/15/09, I have input 4042 names. I intend to keep doing so until the end of this war. As of this date there have been 4313 American service persons killed in Iraq. (source - http://icasualties.org/oif/)

Les gestes involontaires interagissent à leur tour avec l’ensemble de la chorégraphie, dont les images sont retournées sur le web.

Upstage est un site web créé spécifiquement pour les cyberformances. Ce site propose une application open source développé en 2003, un outil de création de performance. Ce logiciel propose de combiner des images, des animations, de l'audio, du dessin, du chat texte et graphique ainsi que de la vidéo conférence sur la même interface, pour le public et les cyberformers. Il n’y a rien à télécharger ni à installé. C’est un outil pour faciliter la création de cyberformance.

After two performances where 24 women of different nationalities, using their mother tongue, said their anger in front of their webcams at home until there was none left, the next step in the Angry Women research project is a series of two sessions of exactly 12 minutes. The limited time, the experience of the first performance and the fact that this time the ladies will use a single language per performance (One performance will be in English, the other in French), will make this a completely different experiment concerned female anger and networked collaboration and group dynamics.

Capture est un robot qui produit automatiquement tout ce qu'un groupe de rock créé : des morceaux en allant chercher selon des critères déterminés des paroles sur Internet et en composant de la musique générative, des produits dérivés et des concerts qui durent plus de 8 heures.
Capture a une vie sociale sur Internet très active, chaque minute il diffuse de nouveaux messages sur Facebook et Twitter. Un grand nombre de tâches sont automatisées de sorte que même les membres de groupe ne peuvent pas tout entendre.
Alors que l’industrie musicale ne cesse d’annoncer sa mort, Capture renverse les données du problème. En étant très productif, Capture excède la possibilité même d’être écouté.

The first "Quake/Friends", October 18th, 2002: On the evening of Ocotber 18th, 2002 at 7pm, 7 performers connected to the same "Quake III Arena" game server online. Instead of participating in the graphic, three dimensionally simulated environment of death, my group of performers recreated, by typing on our keyboards, an episode from the popular sit-com "Friends" - each of us logged in as one of the characters from the show. (The primary goal of this game is to kill as many opponents before they kill you - most kills wins the match.) So, Phoebe, Ross, Monica, Joey, Chandler and Rachel performed, line for line, an adaptation of this season's first episode by typing, while at the same time reciting, the lines from the show using the games online messaging system - the lines of text appeared at the top of each player's screen in real time. Our performers functioned as passive, neutral visitors to the game - we were constantly killed and reincarnated to continue the performance.

"Anonymous", communauté d'activistes sur internet. Leur première grande action, un raid informatique qu'ils avaient organisé, se déroule en 2006, puis une deuxième fois en 2007, sur Habbo, l'hôtel virtuel en ligne. Les utilisateurs se sont inscrits sur le site et se sont représentés sous l'avatar d'individus noirs, habillés en gris, avec une coupe de cheveux afros et bloquaient l'entrée de la piscine de l'hôtel déclarant qu'elle était "fermée à cause du SIDA", ils ont saturé la bande passante du site internet.

Le personnage sur scéne, le clown Frenzy, tombe accidentellement dans le cyber espace, et il réapparait sur un écran, entouré d’avatar qui l’accueil dans leur monde. Le public voit simultanément l’interprète sur scène et sa représentation identique sous forme d’avatar à l’écran. Les autres avatars sont joués par des artistes physiquement présents ou partiellement visibles, et d’autres sont joués par des artistes, à distance via le réseau.

In "No Fun" Franco Mattes simulated his suicide in a public webcam-based chat room. Thousands of random people watched while he was hanging from the ceiling, swinging slowly, for hours. The video documentation of the performance is an unbelievable, at times very disturbing, sequence of reactions: some laugh, some are completely unmoved, some insult the supposed corpse, some take pictures with their mobiles. Notably, out of several thousand people, only one called the police.

The night of December the 2nd 2001, at 2 AM - Seoul local time - Eva and Franco Mattes aka 0100101110101101.ORG hijacked all the visitors of the first Korea Web Art Festival, held in Seoul, South Korea. They hacked into the festival website and exchanged all the artists' works.

Each work got linked to another one, so that for few hours whoever entered the festival website did not see the work he intened to see but a different one. None of the works were erased or modified, they were only exchanged.
