Government shutdown update: Luke Air Force base furloughs more than 400 civilian workers

Government shutdown update: Luke Air Force base furloughs more than 400 civilian workers | Current events | Scoop.it
Luke Air Force Base says the base can go a day without its more than 400 furloughed civilian employees but added that prolonged furloughs would hurt the facility’s long-term health.
Broten Togstad's insight:

This paragragh is talking about how the government shutdown is affecting local economy and how people are losing jobs. It says that at the air force base that got shutdown now more then 400 people are out of jobs and dont know when they will getthere next pay check. It also says that the local bar across the street is going to lose a lot of bussiness because of all air force workers who will not be going there because they dont have a source of income any more.

My reaction to this is that i dont think it is fair for these people to be out of jobs because the government cant come to an agreement. Also how the government is threaring local economy by shutting down these bases. So my final thought is that the government needs to up back up or the all the government workers should not get paid too. Also that the need to stop thinking about them selfs and need to worry about what is best for the country.
