Summary: Rider Zac Purton said Melbourne Cup favourite Admire Rakti "shuddered" as he pulled up in a shock last place at Flemington. Fifteen minutes later one of the world's finest staying thoroughbreds was dead. It was one of the biggest shocks in 152 years of Melbourne Cup racing and ranks alongside the nobbling and scratching of red-hot Cup favourite Big Philou in the mid-1970s. Hours later, another runner Araldo was put down after the stallion broke a bone in his leg when he was startled by a flag on his way back to scale, kicked out and struck a fence.

When park rangers tell hikers to leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but pictures, they probably aren’t talking about selfies. At least that’s what visitors to Taylor Creek in South Lake Tahoe, California, are learning. Park officials say that too many people are trying to take selfies with wild bears. “We’ve had mobs of people that are actually rushing toward the bears trying to get a ‘selfie’ photo,” Lisa Herron, spokesperson for the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, told the Reno Gazette-Journal. “It is presenting a safety issue. Well known fact that all mothers of the babies/cubs will do anything in order to protect their young ones. Best option is to keep a safe distance from the wilds.

Summary: The Waikato township of Te Kuiti has been rocked by the death of a 14-year-old boy who died after being hit by a train. Two males were struck by the northbound train travelling through the Te Kuiti train station near Ward St in the town centre, just after 6pm on Sunday, said police. One male was taken to Te Kuiti Hospital by St John ambulance with moderate injuries, said a St John spokeswoman. It is understood he has since been discharged. The other male, believed to be a Te Kuiti teen, died as a result of injuries at the scene. Police had insist that there have been several incidents involving the rail line over the years since 2011.

Summary: Since the first outbreak of Ebola, a lot of people have lost their family members in Africa. The virus has now killed 4,546 people with cases of infection numbering 9,191. The survivors, still seeking for hope and help, lives under the shadows and sadness of not being able to be with their loved ones again, even food is a problem for them. MSF (Medicins Sans Frontieres) has been trying to help cure this disease and help people in need in Africa. MSF runs about 700 out of the 1,000 beds available in treatment facilities Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. But their supplies are limiting, who’s responsible of the failure of deaths response to Ebola crisis?
