Effects of government shutdown seen across US - Los Angeles Times

Effects of government shutdown seen across US - Los Angeles Times | Current Event 1 | Scoop.it
Press-Enterprise Effects of government shutdown seen across US Los Angeles Times Polls showed that the first government shutdown in 17 years — prompted largely by continued efforts to block President Obama's healthcare law — was decidedly unpopular...
Jack Leschisin's insight:

The government shut down has affected communities all across the United States, and most citizens are not happy. National parks were closed and surrounding areas are estimated to be losing about $76 million in visitor spending everyday the government Is closed. Analysts estimate that 800,000 federal employees were sent home, not knowing when their next paycheck will come.  Polls show that this first government shutdown in 17 years is extremely unpopular with the American public. States are losing funding, attractions like national zoos are closed, and citizens are growing restless.

I don't blame the American public for being upset. The government needs to work together rather than spend their time bickering. Hundreds of thousands of jobs are on hold and our country isn't benefiting in any way from this mess. I don't know very much about Obamacare, but something needs to be figured out soon before America suffers even more.
