President Obama plans to consruct a tar sands-caryying Keystone XL pipeline. Leading climate scientists confirm this project to be very harmful and that "rejecting the pipeline would be a relatively easy step to take to address the planet's rising temperature." Allowing tar sands crude to be carried out of Alberta and into the US is a very distinctive, loud step to firmly ignore the climate's warnings presented by the deep Midwest drought, Hurricane Sandy, and the melting of the Arctic ice pack.

Ten thousant olive trees have been planted in arid areas in Israel and have been highly beneficial. These olive trees greatly benefit the environment by reducing the atmospheric levels of CO2 since they absorb CO2 in such large quantities. Like deforestation, desertification plays a big role in climate change.

The silversword's endangerment foreshadows the trouble for diversity and ecosystems that will keep spreading and progressing as global warming does so.
