Le Marche and the "Borghi Autentici d'Italia" Association

Le Marche and the "Borghi Autentici d'Italia" Association | Culture | Scoop.it
Borghi Autentici is a network of Italian Territories whose protagonists are communities of citizens, of local administrators, of local traders. At moment the beautiful Marche Region is represented by two different towns with the same approach to the future. Montedinove in the province of Ascoli Piceno and Sant'Angelo in Vado in the Province of Pesaro Urbino don’t complain about their social problems or economic decline but, aware of their possibilities and resources, want to detect new chances. Montedinove can count on the territory resources offered by a beautiful historical hilltop town and by the Mela Rosa, the tasty pink apple mentioned by Plinius the Elder. Sant'Angelo in Vado, the ancient "Tifernum Metaurense", crossed by the River Metaurus, is also very famous for the Tuber Magnum Pico, the rare white truffle and every October takes place the white truffle fair that attracts experts and tourists from all over the world. These two lovely towns belong to that part of Italy that wants to succeed against the horrible word CRISI. Borghi Autentici is an Association that creates an operative network between Small towns and Villages working on a common path – often far from being easy – of continuous improvement of the urban structure, of the social services, of the social, cultural and environmental context. It’s a small part of Italy that finds its strategic reasons in a renewed effort of permanence and development in identity, in the scenery, in arts and crafts, in their lifestyle, in the story and in local traditions. This is a reality that considers the local community as a key issue of its development plan. The community is seen as a place, a human and cultural context synonymous of good living, authentic taste, creative know-how and slow social dimension; the Community that discloses itself to the outside world.

Urbino | Inspiring Italy | Culture | Scoop.it
More and more travel bloggers add Urbino to the destinations mentioned in their publications. In fact, following from about 10 years everything that is posted about Le Marche, I'm realizing how the location is polarizing an increasing interest. This is an example. Urbino is mentioned inside a list of Most beautiful places in Italy together with: - The Amalfi Coast described as one of Italy's top tourist destinations - The Aeolian Islands the collection of small, volcanic islands clustered between Naples and Sicily - The Italian Lakes region - The Dolomite Mountains In company of these 4 extraordinary locations, Urbino sees skyrocketing the value of its shares.
