The best thing that can help the advance of robotics is getting kid to have a passion in the subject. The best way of attracting kids to the field of robotics is to get them used to the idea early on and make it interesting so that it has a lasting impact. This article goes over a robotic kit that has resently came out and is around $149 which is about $350 cheaper than a Lego NXT.
