Bicycle Riding Raises PSA Blood Levels | crealinks |

A study involving 129 men over age 50 years evaluated the effect of long distance bicycle riding on blood levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA). Five minutes after a 55 to 160 kilometer bicycle ride PSA blood levels were 9.5% higher than blood levels 60 minutes before the ride. The results suggest that patients should avoid bicycle riding and ejaculation within 24 to 48 hours of a PSA blood test.
