GooseChase - How It Works

GooseChase - How It Works | CQ_instructional_technology_articles | Scoop.it

Photo proof is required to receive points for a mission. Luckily, our smartphone apps make completing a mission incredibly easy.
Just select the mission you want to complete from the mission list, take a picture with the phone's camera and press the submit button. You'll receive the points right away, but remember that all photos are subject to review. This means that you can lose those points at any time if the photo isn't good enough.

Addressing Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs with Technology

Addressing Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs with Technology | CQ_instructional_technology_articles | Scoop.it

Technology is way too often given a bad rap by administrators and educators as a distraction or a hazard for students.  When technology is integrated intentionally with foresight and with intention of addressing specific growth-oriented goals, it increases the potential to help students learn, develop, and grow in unique ways.  It can be used to help address the needs as described by Maslow.

"The first rule is so important, it’s RULE 0.… The new thing is never as good as the old thing, at least right now. Soon, the new thing will be better than the old thing will be." Seth Godwin

Raquel Oliveira's curator insight, February 6, 2015 2:19 PM

Ivon Prefontaine, PhD's curator insight, March 2, 2015 7:19 PM

This is a project which is ongoing. Maslow, like others i.e. Ellul, had reservations about computers, but his work is important in their uses.

Corpkit: a tool for investigating text

Corpkit: a tool for investigating text | CQ_instructional_technology_articles | Scoop.it

It does a lot of the usual things, like parsing, concordancing and keywording, but also extends their potential significantly: you can concordance by searching for combinations of lexical and grammatical features, and can do keywording of lemmas, of subcorpora compared to corpora, or of words in certain positions within clauses.
