The change we are seeing is not that kids can’t pay attention to things, it’s that they’re not as interested in paying attention to things,” he said. “They have less patience for being bored. What I think that all the digital activities have in common is that, with very little effort from me, something interesting happens. And if I’m bored, another interesting experience is very easy to obtain.”

They're the 'on demand' generation; if i'm bored I can use the ipad, the iphone or binge watch tv programmes. Something is always happening around them. It's a battle I have to fight at home with my 8-year-old. We tell her that it's good to be bored; it gives her time to be creative in her head and to create things rather than depend on gadgets to create the moments for her.

Your Online Course Must Incorporate Skill-Based Learning

there’s no reason a subject with a knowledge focus can’t incorporate skill-based elements into the learning experience. Doing so helps learners focus during a lesson, retain information, and apply it in real-case scenarios. As a result, skill-based learning leads to learners who are better able to use their learning in a real-world environment.
