A Christian psychotherapist struck off after attempting to convert a homosexual man to heterosexuality said yesterday that counsellors with traditional views now face being “closed down”.

 

One response in the comments section rather sums up my view:

 

Practitioners of “ex-gay” therapy aren’t being closed down. They remain perfectly free to peddle their fanciful, dogmatic theories and to practise their bogus therapy for a non-illness. They just can’t do so as accredited psychotherapists or counsellors, which is perfectly reasonable. Astrotherapists, angel therapists, reincarnation therapists and similar crank practitioners don’t receive the endorsement of professional psychotherapeutic organizations, so why should they?
