AP turned to the expertise of the Schroeder Group, a New York-based consultancy. Following exhaustive interviews and research, AP developed a masterbrand strategy to drive distinction, clarify its values, and serve as a guide for business decisions.

 

To align with these modifications, we (objective subject) defined a dynamic visual system to support the mark. A range of deep colors supplement the mark’s dominant red, and selected typography offers further complement. A new visual element, called watermarks, drawn from the outline of the AP letterforms, intertwines to connote the strength of AP’s network of people, bureaus and technology.

Back in October, the Austrian broadcaster ORF launched a new TV channel called ORF III, which is dedicated to programmes on culture and information. The on-air identity was created by the broadcast design agency DMC, who posted a case study on their website some time ago.

 

At the heart of the identity is the logo, consiting of three bars for the roman numeral III. These bars are extended into a presentation device used for trailers and schedules. The channel has three identifying colours. Grey is used for the logo, while purple and olive green represent the channel's two main topics, culture and information, respectively. Whitney and Mercury where adopted as the channel's typefaces.

This week, on March 13, the company was rebranded as GSE Environmental following its listing on the NYSE last month.

 

GSE is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and the new identity was developed by BrandExtract, which is also based in Houston. Research produced six "key brand attributes" - sustainability, leadership, consistency, collaboration, flexibility and innovation - which the new identity was built on.

The new logo for Grand Central is inspired by the clock in the Terminal's Main Concourse. The hands in the logo point to 7:13, or 19:13 in trainmaster's time, for the year Grand Central first opened.

 

The strikingly modern sans serif typeface Avenir was chosen for the logo in recognition that the Terminal will continue to have a vital role in the future of the city.

 

The designers developed a graphic language for Terminal marketing around the word "Grand."

After weeks of talks, the Atlanta-based company sealed the deal by raising an initial offer of €9 a share to €9.5 a share for the Amsterdam-listed company. Germany and Brazil 2013–2014 is a project initiated by the German Federal Foreign Office to strengthen the ties between the two countries. A series of events in all major Brazilian cities, organised by the German Science and Innovation Centre São Paulo, present an up-to-date image of Germany to a largely Brazilian audience.

Despite the events' focus on innovation, technology and sustainability, the mark for the year long joint celebrations appeals first and foremost to the Brazilian zest for life. The colourful ribbon is not only an appropriate symbol for a joint future, the figure it forms at its centre is also a precursor of the fun to come.
