'Gatsby' Marketing Campaign Keeps Eye on the Prize (Photos)
Variety
Like the omniscient eyes of Doctor T.J. Eckleburg in F. Scott Fitzgerald's prized novella, the outdoor marketing campaign for “The Great Gatsby” seems to follow you wherever you go.
Christopher Osborne 's insight:

This campaign for the new Gatsby movie is an amazing idea. Putting up billboards everywhere relating to the city it is in is a smart and effective way to gain the attention of people. The goal is to create an interesting vibe for the viewers so that they can be drawn closer to the movie itself. From my experience with billboards, I like them to be eye captivating so that it makes me want to find out more information on this movie and I think the films advertising team did an amazing job at that.

I have seen the news over marriage equality and I feel that everyone has a choice no two people are the same who are we to judge someone and tell them how to live their life. I believe do what makes you happy and if people don't accept you well just ignore them. I feel that companies are using the marriage equality to gain publicity and customers. Companies shouldn't have to use this as a way to gain clients, I feel that these ads are of poor taste and are leaving companies that don't mention the legislation in their adversing should not be seen as not agreeing. There are a number of videos on this post that I love.
Rutu Pandya's comment, April 9, 2013 3:57 AM
I have been watching all these marches on marriage equality as well, and I personally believe that everyone has the right to chose who they wanna spend their lives with. We have no right to interfere in their personal relationships and judge them or call them names. I come from a society where if you are lesbian or gay people look down on you and even start hating them and personally abuse them. Thats absolutely wrong and degrading for the society. I think it should be banned and stated unacceptable because it creates such high negative vibes in the community. Companies should definitely not promote client base on such methods, it would be morally wrong, ethically down standards and something that many people like me would object to.

Christopher Osborne 's insight:

I am amazed at how the university of engineering and technology found a very unique and eye captivating way to gain the attention of new students. Video commercials are a very powerful tool because it contains the elements of sight, sound, and motion, which combined can create an influential message to any of its viewers. I believe that this advert was a smart way to gain the attention of new students to the university, as it gives them a taste of whats on offer

I believe there's more to it. Because they are not just captivating eyes, they are actually using their knowledge and experience to give society with something better. It also shows that along with marketing they are completing the social responsibility factors. We as consumers are more touched by emotions rather than logic or rationale, in this case, they are providing water to a desert prone area, which is 'amazing'.
Sarah Betts's comment, March 21, 2013 5:09 AM
I agree with the both of you that this campaign was "amazing." This campaign did not only benefit the University of Engineering and Technology but helped the community. Clean water is something that most of us don't even think about. It shows just how powerful an advertising campaign can be. Students looking for further education would have been drawn to the university for its point of difference. It was very eye catching and interactive which not only stops people to engage with the billboard but makes the community acknowledge the local University.

Take Our Instagram Tour Inside The World's Top Ad Agencies

Take Our Instagram Tour Inside The World's Top Ad Agencies | Corporate Advertising | Scoop.it

If you really want to know what it is like to work in an advertising agency, stalk the employee Instagram accounts.

Earlier this Summer, we reported on how most advertising agencies are slow to fully utilize corporate Instagram accounts, which is unfortunate, because these same agencies are producing some amazing Instagram campaigns for their clients.

Searching by agency hashtags, however, uncovered a plethora of unofficial photos from inside the walls of some of the largest agency networks in the world.

Since the agencies themselves have very little to show on their Instagram accounts, we decided to check out what the employees are Instagraming personally. While the occasional pool table and skyline view are not unusual, there are some surprising perks at some shops ... all while working 70-hour weeks, of course.

Our journey through the Instagram accounts of the advertising world focused primarily on the top 25 largest advertising networks in the world. The result was a worldwide tour of the offices and lifestyles of ad professionals from Hong Kong to New York City.

Here's what it's like inside some of the top agency networks in the world.

Christopher Osborne 's insight:

Instagram is a smart and efficent way to gain the attention of comsumers and customers. Advertising agencys are now fully using the benifits and perks that instagram can offer to their busniess. I beleive that it is a smart idea to use this type of social media to help promote a busniness because it helps them get alot of media attention and publicity that can help spread the word on any prodcts that they are selling.

Yes I love instagram. I am constantly seeing photos posted onto Facebook linked to Instagram. Social media is definitely the future for companies to advertise and reach a selected target audience. People also share instagram images to friends and post on their news feeds which reaches more and more people. If i post an Instragram image on my facebook page my friends that live aboard can see it they can then repost it which will be seen by their friends and so on. Such a powerful way of advertising here is the future!

This article is great. I have heard non stop Paramore songs and radio hosts mentioning that Paramore is back and you should buy their new CD. Their website looks very inviting and they are also using social media"Twitter" as a news feed and a way to advertise. This advertising is free and is a great way for fans to communicate and voice their opinions on the new album. Photos and videos are also on the website this caught my eye aswel Chris!
