  1. Your bio should show you are a person (not an ad)
  2. Automation is OK but you have to actually be on Twitter every now and then.
  3. Don't protect your tweets.
  4. Get notifications from Twitter (this relates to #2 above - you need to be on Twiter, otherwise you're missing the whole point)
  5. If you're only talking about yourself on Twitter (and on social media in general) (and in life in general) - you're doing it wrong. 
  6. Use hashtags wisely
  7. Use lists.
