Sears Explains Its Success In Content Marketing - Forbes

Sears Explains Its Success In Content Marketing - Forbes | Content Strategy |Brand Development |Organic SEO | Scoop.it

Marketing Analytics: Focus On The Data To Answer Questions

Marketing Analytics: Focus On The Data To Answer Questions | Content Strategy |Brand Development |Organic SEO | Scoop.it
Marketers get a lot of questions. And that's why it's important to focus on marketing analytics instead of web analytics for a complete picture of performance.

Marketers often get caught up in things like new vs. returning visitors, growth of unique visitors, etc. And while that data is interesting, it doesn’t provide what marketers need: a complete picture of their performance. That’s because that data is web analytics, not marketing analytics.

Two Weeks In, Google Talks Penguin Update, Ways To Recover & Negative SEO

Two Weeks In, Google Talks Penguin Update, Ways To Recover & Negative SEO | Content Strategy |Brand Development |Organic SEO | Scoop.it
It’s been about two weeks since Google launched its Penguin Update. Google’s happy the new spam-fighting algorithm is improving things as intended.

Of course, soon after Penguin was released, people quickly started citing examples of odd results. The official Viagra site wasn’t listed, while hacked sites were. An empty web site was listed for “make money online,” and there were reports of other empty sites ranking well. Scraper sites were reported outranking the sites they scraped.

When to Post on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr for Maximum Effect [Study]

When to Post on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr for Maximum Effect [Study] | Content Strategy |Brand Development |Organic SEO | Scoop.it
Posting content at specific times of the day and days of the week helps marketers better reach their audience and see the virality of their content maximized. Bitly shares insight into the optimal posting times on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.

Posting a link to Twitter after 3 p.m. on a Friday is pretty much pointless, based on their cumulative data on the number of clicks on bitly links from each social network. The Knowledge Graph

The Knowledge Graph | Content Strategy |Brand Development |Organic SEO | Scoop.it

"The Knowledge Graph enables you to search for things, people or places that Google knows about—landmarks, celebrities, cities, sports teams, buildings, geographical features, movies, celestial objects, works of art and more—and instantly get information that's relevant to your query. This is a critical first step towards building the next generation of search, which taps into the collective intelligence of the web and understands the world a bit more like people do," explains Google.

As Mashable says, "the transition from a word-based index to this knowledge graph is a fundamental shift that will radically increase power and complexity."
