Florida 'Non Lawyer' Fights Red Light Camera 'Racketeering'

Florida 'Non Lawyer' Fights Red Light Camera 'Racketeering' | Content Marketing with CMS Platforms | Scoop.it

Via Miami New Times:

Bob Sherin is not a lawyer, but a "non lawyer" - a title he proudly tacks onto his emails. Either way, he's spent the past year and considerable personal expense to expose what he calls red light "racketeering". South Florida cities are sending citizens tickets for right-hand-turns and other acts that simply aren't illegal, he says.

"There all sorts of exemptions (from tickets) that are being hidden from motorists," Sherin says. "These cities are demanding millions of dollars that they are not due. It's a crime. [They are] giving out who knows how many tickets every day to people who are struggling just to get by," he says. "It's extortion. They are making money outside the law. It's just a money-grabbing scheme..."

Types Of Websites You Can Create With WordPress

Types Of Websites You Can Create With WordPress | Content Marketing with CMS Platforms | Scoop.it

Many people who have heard of WordPress think that it’s just a publishing platform for blogs. In truth, WordPress is an extremely powerful and versatile publishing solution, and can be used to create many different types of websites.

Magazine Style Websites

WordPress can also be used to create magazine style websites. These websites don’t have a strictly chronological organizational structure like blogs, but instead highlight a number of articles on the website’s homepage (with the highlighting often done through a thumbnail image or photograph).

E-commerce Websites

It’s relatively easy to add e-commerce capability to virtually any WordPress website. There are many different e-commerce plug-ins to choose from, some available for free, and others are premium plug-ins that must be licensed for use. There are even WordPress themes that are designed to support e-commerce activities. So yes WordPress can be used to create an e-commerce website. For exampleThe Painted Prezel, a company that was on Shark Tank, uses the WordPress platform for their e-commerce website.

Static Websites

Even though WordPress has the capability of providing a highly dynamic website, you can forego posts and limit yourself to using just pages to create a relatively flat or static website. The advantages of using WordPress to create such a site are that you have many different graphical and appearance options to choose from. You can set up static websites for such as online resume websites, sales pages, or business websites for restaurants and other “bricks and mortar” businesses.

Social Networking Websites

If you have an idea for your own small social networking website, you can use WordPress to create it. The BuddyPress plug-in allows you to provide your website visitors with the opportunity to create their own profiles, manage accounts on your website and interact with other users who have a shared interest. BuddyPress even allows you to offer your social network members the opportunity to run their own fully featured WordPress blogs directly from your website.

Traditional Blogs

Blogs, of course, are the mainstay of WordPress. There are certainly other options for creating blogs, but WordPress is perhaps the most versatile, and certainly the best supported of all the options for creating blogs.

As you can see, WordPress is very flexible, in addition to being very powerful. Regardless of whatever type of website or functionality you desire, there’s a good chance that there is a way to use the WordPress platform to achieve it.

Google Analytics helps marketers hone future campaigns

SUMMARY: Marketers can use Google Analytics to determine the source of visitor traffic, including how they found their way to the site, writes Dawn McGruer. The vital program will even tell marketers which Web browser prospects were using and what keywords they searched. Getting Started in Social Selling

Getting Started in Social Selling | Content Marketing with CMS Platforms | Scoop.it

There is a lot of buzz lately about social selling. But what is social selling, and can it work? We recently conducted a webcast where Jill Rowley from Eloqua shared with us the benefits of social selling and how to get started in this new approach to sales. To begin, what is social selling? First, it is using social media in sales. Next, it involves using social media tools to collaborate as a team to engage with an active prospect. Finally, it is the sharing of ideas across multiple social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. The goal is to be recognized as a thought leader and to gain the trust of current and potential clients who will look to you to fill future purchasing needs.

So why is this important? As noted in the recent Harvard Business Review article, “Tweet Me, Friend Me, Make Me Buy”, “more than 90% of C-level executives said they ‘never’ respond to cold calls or e-mail blasts,” but sales people are seeing a high rate of response to social media. Additionally, by monitoring social media channels, the customer may in fact “start” the conversation via a complaint or observation they’ve posted online, which a salesperson responds to. Thus, by focusing on social media, a salesperson can spend more time working on warm leads and less on unfruitful cold calls.

The new rules of social commerce - Fortune Tech

The new rules of social commerce - Fortune Tech | Content Marketing with CMS Platforms | Scoop.it
The social media phenomenon is transforming the way companies connect with and make money from customers. It's a disruptive process.

Social consumers are still up for grabs, but not for long. Many leading businesses are starting to "get" the rules of the game -- with the frontrunners increasing their investments in social platforms and social design mechanics so they can manage consumer interactions across all communication channels.
What the C-suite can do now:

-Introduce a clear top-down stance that defines the priority of social initiatives.
-Launch a "consumer interaction" inventory to capture how consumers interact with your organization.
-Survey your company to understand how it uses social and compare this with best practices.
-Identify and assess tools and players in the social space.
-Study the best practices of social's early adopters.
-Prepare for "social listening." Figure out what conversations your consumers are already having about your company (and where). Start participating in those conversations (no selling allowed!).

"Everything on the Web is measurable." That's a pretty common statement--so you'd think that businesses would also be measuring everything they did online, right?

Well, not so much. Slapping Google Analytics on your website isn't the half of it. And if you're not routinely checking in on this data, trying to derive meaning from it--and, most important, using this information to improve your website's performance--then you're probably coming up short.

Part of it boils down to tools: You need to know where exactly to look to derive the juicy tidbits and comparisons that can help you make improvements. Here are several tools and resources to try out. Some may just satisfy your curiosity while others can reveal deeper insights.

9 Navigational Shields To Protect Your Website From Oblivion

9 Navigational Shields To Protect Your Website From Oblivion | Content Marketing with CMS Platforms | Scoop.it

‘Internet’ with passing tide has been reduced to a mere quest to achieve perfection. Blame it on level on fierce competition that we have in the market today, there are millions of websites now trying their level best to grab the attention of a prospective client. A short web journey through modern websites makes me feel sorry for the quality aspect that we have compromised with all these years. In a bid to attract customers, many have forgotten the real motive behind the establishment of a web portal, which is educating the prospect in the best possible manner. I see web masters and SEO experts walking in jeopardized state most of the times, reason being low conversion or high bounce rate or possibly another Google update! Many have debated about perfect navigation pattern and style that a website owner should adopt to make things better for his business but they all have loose ends.

I take this opportunity to present my own views and a straightforward opinion on ‘what actually a perfect navigation is all about?’. I am a firm believer of the fact that every website has its own psychological impact on users mind or brain and even a simple navigation messages on a website can do a good job. An uber cool website navigation is not about flamboyance or stylishness, rather it is about the sense of freedom or the effortlessness that a probable visitor feels while going through your website. If a website is not able to convey its role to the audience then, to me it’s a bad investment all together. Thinking from a prospective of a business unit, loosing even a single prospect is not an healthy option for them, which is why smooth navigation will always remain a virtual ‘Buy from us’ board for them.

Here are my 9 Straightforward Takes On Perfect Navigation
