This article captured my attention because many people associate marketing with sales, false claims, and forced selling. However, in recent times businesses that embrace good, such as TOMS, are capturing consumers' attention because they buy into the product and cause. Companies should create a purpose and platform upon which to build a business that a consumer can rally behind as sales simultaneously grow.

This article demonstrates that shoppers are addicted to deals, but discounts are not enough. Consumers are acutely aware of all the elements of value, such as free shipping, and will delay urgent purposes until they have completed price comparisons and done their research. Customers are essentially in the driver's seat. I can relate to this because I only make online purchases that have free shipping and often use website shopping carts to store items as a reminder to shop around for better deals.

I think this article confirms the increasing trend of convenient, online buying. Whether they like it or not, retailers are being forced to create easy-to-use online purchasing experiences. They must adapt to the high expectations that consumers have for online presences and payment methods.

I found this article interesting because logos play an important emotional role in decision making even though we as buyers only glance at them for 400 milliseconds on average. Our brains look at color, shape, and meaning to trigger responses.
