Beverley-Lynn Bates's insight:

Absolutely! When u show initiatives to help your community and your world through volunteering you show ppl that you are aware of the needs of ppl and what it takes to keep organizations running so they benefit the ppl it is meant to benefit. Employers don't just want a workhorse, they want ppl who care about others because the best working environment is one where the leaders are able to connect with their team to make profit and to produce a positive outcome. Working with volunteers for a cause will help to bolster those skills :)

Michelle Phillips Shares Her 8 Steps To Building The Look Of Your Dreams

Beverley-Lynn Bates's insight:

This is an important way to view yourself and your peers. Just because there is beauty on the outside it doesn't mean we all feel beautiful on the inside. We need to focus on our inner beauty in order to truly achieve our goals of beauty on the outside, in order to be happy in our relationships, in order to truly make our dreams a reality or help others with their dreams. Nothing we do to look better will actually solve what is going on inside. It needs to be a complete package. More initiatives needs to be taken to help ppl become what gives them peace inside. Programs should be developed to encourage ppl to foster their inner beauty more than their outer beauty. When ppl are happy inside they share that beauty through what they say and do and it encourages others to seek their own beauty. This also helps to make the world a better place, a more beautiful place for you and for me :)

@colincampbell This is fantastic! It's in DES in Van? I'll make sure to visit next time I'm in Vancouver. (Have you heard of @havecafe in Vancouver helping people with barriers to employment gain job training?
Beverley-Lynn Bates's insight:

Many of us complain about homelessness, well I think instead of complaining we need to set up more places like this to help people with problems find jobs  And have support for the issues in their lives that they need help solving so they feel they are able to commit to their jobs. Depression and addictions tear at homes and take away personal initiatives to stay employed. Work is stressful when u are loaded with other problems that distract u and take all ur energy. More time needs to be spent on helping ppl handle what's bothering them so they can work well and earn the money they need to support themselves.
