New EU commission tenders: EU Tenders: EU-Wide Passenger information and Booking System / Security of High-speed Trains

24th July: The European Commission’s Transport department “DG MOVE” has launched two tenders that cut across themes of relevance to the RoCK project.

The tender on passer information and booking is about proving the “feasibility of a multimodal passenger transport information and booking service that could be applied on a pan-European basis”.

The tender on high-speed rail has to analyse the vulnerability of European high speed trains, including railway stations, tracks, signals, switches, power and communication with respect to terrorist attacks, evaluate the consequences of an attack and make proposals for appropriate measures of protection.

Responses for both tenders are due in September. More details can be seen on the European Commission’s transport tender site.
