The day in the life at the University of Washington is definitely much different from high school. It does have the perks of more freedom, but as a consequence, it makes studying more of an independent process. It seems much more enjoyable to go to school for a short amount of time, but the large amount of self-studying seems strenuous. For my own experience in University of Washington, I'll know now that the social aspect will be entertaining, but the process into getting into the CSE major will be very difficult.

Throughout my life, I've been skeptical between the differences of structural and civil engineers. Now, I realize that the civil engineer major is a bit more attractive to me. The main difference between them is that structural engineers look into the materials used in construction; however, the civil engineers are the people who go through the designs and exercise a bit of creativity. It was also interesting to hear that a person has to become a civil engineer first before becoming a structural engineer because it is a specialized field.

Depending on the college, entering the civil engineering major can be difficult. It is also getting progressively harder to find jobs because civil engineering is becoming slightly obsolete. Many of the civil engineers have to incorporate various subjects ranigng from science and mathematics to their own creativity. If a person can get through the creativity and tedious workload, then the civil engineering job ends up being very rewarding.
