I dont know about Peters book and courses however in this page, Peter talks about 7 ways to simplify your life. While these 7 steps may not agree with everyone, my recommendation is to at least "Give then a fair Go!".
Our lives can become distorted with external demands and issues. It is important to take time to simplify your life. MORE IMPORTANTLY taking the time to meditate and be alone with yourself, to really find out what is important to you, what makes you happy, what brings joy to your life. Then look at ways of incorporating those joyful activities into your life while making and maintaining a simple life. Remember we MUST take responsibility for every aspect of our own lives. We make the decisions. No-one twists our arm behind our back to force our decision. Though we may need to work with others in our family or work to find a happy compromise.

Jerome Stone addresses one of the most common aversions to meditation -- that often we feel like failures when our minds are behaving like runaway monkeys, and we believe there should be no thought. One key to effective meditation is to no thave any expectations of an outcome. That would be like saying if this day doesnt result in this or that I will be disappointed and consider it a bad day. Letting go of expectations actually can help you to attain a lot of waht we meditate for anyways. Believe me... this is easier said than done. But it gets easier with repitition.
