Entrepreneurs know how to find and capitalize on loopholes. They're always looking to beat the system.

They have a handful of parking tickets stashed in their glove box.

Entrepreneurs tend to have problems with authority.

They take you to matinee movies to save money (and forget stopping at the concession stand--you better bring your own popcorn and Raisinets). Entrepreneurs aren't rolling in the dough financially, or at least not in the beginning.

A Founder’s Guideline to Debt Financing – Startup Grind –

Equity is, of course, the most understood method of financing. This is because most startups have to raise equity to get off the ground. There are also many VCs around who can provide equity capital.

The documents needed to run an equity round are straightforward with well-established templates for priced rounds, convertible notes and SAFEs.

There’s also plenty of education out there on VC blogs, Hacker News, Reddit etc. We don’t have as much education around debt. We thought we could provide you with some basic guidelines.

This Exercise Will Help You To Stop Wasting Your Time

Also, if you’re more productive than average people, you’ll advance faster in your career. You learn more. You do more. And eventually are rewarded more. Because productivity doesn’t suggest that you get the right things done. It just means you get a lot of stuff done. But that’s not what matters.

Effectiveness, however, refers to getting the right things done.

Today, Michio Kaku Described What Life Will Look Like in Twenty Years | Competitive Edge | Scoop.it
Today, at the World Government Summit held in Dubai, Michio Kaku presented his vision of what life will look like in the next twenty years.

The topic at hand? Change.

It seems that each day brings with it a revolution in artificial intelligence, space travel, and DNA, which is the building block of life itself. Though these developments are inspiring, the rapid pace at which science and technology are advancing is sometimes a little disquieting. And according to Kaku, in the next twenty years, things are going to get really weird.

From toilets that read our proteins to walls that talk to us, Kaku painted a staggeringly beautiful (and somewhat comical) picture of the world of tomorrow. Read full article: click image or title.

Arianna Huffington says she became truly successful when she quit one common bad habit | Competitive Edge | Scoop.it

Arianna Huffington says believing this bad habit makes you successful is a "complete delusion.

Media mogul Arianna Huffington has been very vocal about the importance of sleep since accidentally overworking herself to the point of exhaustion in 2007.

Critics may point out that she managed to establish a successful media company, the Huffington Post, after years of losing sleep and prior to becoming a champion for wellness and balance. But Huffington says that's not the case.

Contrary to popular belief, she tells CNBC Make It at a Fuel List event hosted by her wellness site Thrive Global, that she truly became successful when she quit working round-the-clock.

Research: What Happens to a Startup When Venture Capitalists Replace the Founder

Research: What Happens to a Startup When Venture Capitalists Replace the Founder | Competitive Edge | Scoop.it
It actually makes success more likely.

Entrepreneurs often seek external capital to accelerate their growth. This is especially true in hotly contested markets where fast growth can be the difference between success or failure. And yet this outside funding may come with strings attached, which can (and perhaps should) give entrepreneurs pause. Founders will likely find their influence diluted, in terms of both financial equity and their control over the board of directors. They may even find themselves out of a job if their investors decide to fire them and find a replacement. Read more: click image or title.
