HOA horror story gets worse for La Jolla homeowner

HOA horror story gets worse for La Jolla homeowner | Community & HOA Management | Scoop.it
A La Jolla condo owner continues to have problems with his homeowners association.
Harmony Management's insight:

Harmony Management Group believes Managers should thoroughly investigate potential contractors so that their community associations hire reputable service providers. A community association is more likely to receive quality workmanship if the manager develops detailed bid specifications, researches potential contractors' qualifications and carefully evaluates each bid.

CHOOSING A CONTRACTOR

STEP 1: Review each bid to see if it meets the
standards in the bid specifications.

STEP 2: Check each bidder's references.

STEP 3: Call your local Better Business Bureau to learn if
customers have registered complaints against the bidders.

STEP 4: Eliminate any bids that are
unacceptable based on the first three steps.

STEP 5: Compare the remaining bids' prices. Be wary of
extremely low- or high-priced bids.

STEP 6: Recommend a contractor to the board based on the
company's understanding of the job, qualifications and price.
