The use and development of cloud computing in the future will be one of the most important for the IT industry as the need for higher resolution videos and such on smaller more versatile devices will increase the dependance on cloud computing.

 

With an increase in internet speeds in the future cloud computing will become standard and making the need for storage devices at home or work obsolete as everything down to the software can be stored in another location able to be accessed virtually.

Sovreignty issues have resulted in data flows across the pond being restrictive in both ways. Take the US Patriot Act as an example, it is a worry for EU firms, even though it tends to be more bark than bite.

Sometime between then and now, the cloud went from being the next big thing to being something that’s so closely intertwined with computing – and our lives – that we often forget about it.

This was always to be expected. Hackers always follow the money trail. Now it is a matter of how well security can be beefed up to give a reasonable amount of protection. When this is tried and tested the Cloud will become the norm.
