This is a great tool for telling stories and creating digital narrative using images and text. Really easy to use and you don't even have to register. Just drag and drop images and add text.

Jay Roth's curator insight, May 5, 2014 11:52 AM

Could be useful to share annotated pictures from education events (classroom, parent-teacher nights, shows, etc.)

Allan Tsuda's curator insight, May 18, 2014 8:27 PM

Real simple. Just remember to fill in your email address at the bottom when done so you can get mailed a link to get back to it. You can publish it privately or publicly. It's beta now. Once they start putting in curation and tagging features, it will be better.

What your supervisor means when they give advice on your draft

What your supervisor means when they give advice on your draft | Technology Enhanced Learning Research & Applications | Scoop.it
Okay, so this is something that I watch candidates go through, and also something I discovered when I started to give feedback as a supervisor myself. Your supervisor is probably not actually that good at giving written feedback on drafts. Speaking for myself, a lot of feedback annotations are just my notes to myself about what…
Fiona Harvey's insight:
Useful to find a rational voice regarding the feedback and advice on drafts. Seems dry sensible (and reassuring)

Platforms Have Transformed the Economy. Is Education Next? | Technology Enhanced Learning Research & Applications | Scoop.it
“ Like higher education, most K-12 platform deployments are examples of ‘technology integration’ rather than transformation. They facilitate textbook replacement and open content utilization. Strong deployment support personalization and extend learning. ”

Fiona Harvey's insight:
Think this is a great article - highlighting a disconnect between what we need and what we want to have. HE Is slow to respond which doesn't help change anything. Worth taking a look at.

Radically rethinking education - Harvard Gazette

Radically rethinking education - Harvard Gazette | Technology Enhanced Learning Research & Applications | Scoop.it
“Higher education in the digital age is radically remaking the models by which it delivers its content, the leader of a higher education technology association said.”
Fiona Harvey's insight:
Really interesting and spot on (IMHO) "“It’s not just about digital. We are all present, and you’ve got millions of minds in the world. It’s higher education in the connected age, where we can connect with anyone and anything, anytime, for different purposes,” she said. “If we’re smart about how to marry the digital with the best of what we do face-to-face, education will move to a new level for everyone.”

Please save the date - March 8th 2016 the University of Southampton will be hosting the UK's first "BadgeCon"  a conference for HE and FE providers and organisations to come together and show how the use of badges are being used to support the enhancement of education.  Employers are welcome to attend and get involved in course design and development of skills.
