Satanic Temple given green light to display fallen angel in Florida Capitol

Satanic Temple given green light to display fallen angel in Florida Capitol | Christian bible study blended with science, history and technology | Scoop.it
The Satanic Temple’s war on religion took another successful step today when Florida’s Department of Management Services green-lighted the atheist groups’ request to erect a “holiday display” in the Florida Capitol rotunda this year. According to the Americans United for Separation of Church and State, Florida’s Department of Management Services has agreed to allow the temple’s display to be put up, reversing its stance from last year, when officials called the display “grossly offensive.” http://bibleblender.com/2014/christian-news/satanic-temple-given-green-light-to-display-fallen-angel-in-florida-capitol

Jesus give authority to the twelve disciples and sends them on mission to spread God's message (Matthew 9:35 - 10:42) | Christian bible study blended with science, history and technology | Scoop.it
Jesus’ fiery call to spread the word applies the same today as it did thousands of years ago. It is our duty as Christians to spread the word either through ministering or demonstration of good works. In fact, as Jesus said, we should proclaim his word from the rooftops implying we should spread the word far and wide in a loud, confident voice. http://bibleblender.com/2018/bible-stories/new-testament/matthew/jesus-give-authority-twelve-disciples-mission-spread-gods-message-matthew-9-35-10-42

Religion as a crutch for the weak and wounded? If you use religion as a buffer against life's struggles, you're (probably) missing the point. | Christian bible study blended with science, history and technology | Scoop.it
Religion used as a crutch can be good for some – and bad for others. Would you be unable to face life’s struggles without religion? Would fear of death consume you if you had no faith? If you answer “yes” to any of these, remind yourself what the true purposes of Christianity are – a heartfelt worship of God, a staple of moral guidelines, and most importantly, a requirement to help others. http://bibleblender.com/2018/biblical-lessons/modern-day-lessons/religion-as-a-crutch-for-weak-wounded

What we know about the Twelve Disciples (or Twelve Apostles) mentioned in the New Testament Bible

What we know about the Twelve Disciples (or Twelve Apostles) mentioned in the New Testament Bible | Christian bible study blended with science, history and technology | Scoop.it
Details about the twelve disciples are scarce since the New Testament did not delve deeply into their personal histories. But the apostles are mentioned in other, non-canonical historical writings from the 1st and 2nd century. From these sources, we can piece together a biography of each disciple with various degrees of accuracy. Here is what is generally known about the twelve disciples (and a few other disciples who were close followers of Jesus Christ). http://bibleblender.com/2018/biblical-lessons/biblical-history/what-we-know-about-the-twelve-disciples-or-twelve-apostles-mentioned-in-the-new-testament-bible

This is the second interlude between the sounding of the sixth and seventh trumpets. The “two witnesses”, two prophets who preach God’s word for 3 ½ years unharmed, are apparently quite effective given the Antichrist’s desire to destroy them. At the end of 3 ½ years, they are killed by the beast. Despite the Antichrist’s attempt to subdue them, they miraculously rise back to life after 3 ½ days. http://bibleblender.com/2018/bible-stories/new-testament/revelation/two-witnesses-prophesy-1260-days-killed-resurrected-antichrist-revelation-11-1-11-14

"Homophobia" shaves years off your life? How Christians can handle society's ever-changing moral standards

"Homophobia" shaves years off your life? How Christians can handle society's ever-changing moral standards | Christian bible study blended with science, history and technology | Scoop.it
In what turns out to be another case of propaganda slipped to the public under the guise of serious scientific research, a Columbia University research team released a research paper which concludes that homophobia shaves years off your life – 2.5 years to be exact. Their stated solution of course, is for society to accept homosexuality as an acceptable moral behavior in order to improve the health of the overall population. Here’s what’s wrong with their study and how Christians can use ever-changing societal standards to properly demonstrate their fundamental beliefs. http://bibleblender.com/2014/christian-news/columbia-university-research-homophobia-reduces-lifespan-propaganda-christian-moral-values

God says he was “grieved” by the Israelites adulterous hearts, those that turned away from him and “lusted after their idols”. After the sounding of the sixth trumpet, John saw another angel coming down from heaven. The angel was robed in a cloud with a rainbow above his head. His face was like the sun and his legs were like fiery pillars. He was holding a little scroll which lay open in his hand. The angel gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke. I was about to write what they said when a voice from heaven said, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said – do not write it down.” https://bibleblender.com/2018/bible-stories/new-testament/revelation/the-angel-with-the-little-scroll-sounding-of-seventh-trumpet-halted-revelation-10-1-10-11

How to read and interpret (understand) the Bible's Old and New Testament texts

How to read and interpret (understand) the Bible's Old and New Testament texts | Christian bible study blended with science, history and technology | Scoop.it
Many Bible readers feel they struggle interpreting the true meaning of the biblical texts. In truth, any translated text will be difficult to understand, and even more so when the text is a sacred religious tome, translated by interpreters who went to great lengths to ensure they did not alter its original meaning in any way. Nehemiah 8 hints that even ancient readers sought help interpreting the Bible’s message, and provides a wonderful story illustrating how the ancients read and understood the Bible. http://bibleblender.com/2015/biblical-lessons/modern-day-lessons/how-to-read-interpret-understand-the-old-testament-new-testament

The collected writings of T. Justin Martyr - first century philosopher and early Christian Apologist (part 2 of 2)

The collected writings of T. Justin Martyr - first century philosopher and early Christian Apologist (part 2 of 2) | Christian bible study blended with science, history and technology | Scoop.it
Justin Martyr was an early Christian apologist. Originally a professional philosopher, Justin converted to Christianity about 130 AD after witnessing Christians die for their faith. He learned about Christianity from “an old Christian man” who told him of a “true philosophy” to live life by. Through Old Testament study and confirmation of events and miracles of his day, Justin began to introduce others to Christ. Much of his works are lost but two apologies and a dialogue survive in their entirety. Other writings exist in fragments only. http://bibleblender.com/2017/biblical-lessons/biblical-history/ancient-texts/collected-writings-justin-martyr-first-century-philosopher-early-christian-apologist-part-2-of-2

God insists on recognition and obedience - For Ezekiel's people, judgement is on hand, the end is near (Ezekiel 7:1 - 7:27) | Christian bible study blended with science, history and technology | Scoop.it
Ezekiel presents his warning as six “oracles” – messages from God – and with and express intensity, the intent of each is quite clear.  The finality of God’s judgement is emphasized as is its imminent arrival. In each oracle, it is important to recognize that recognition of God is underscored. The Israelites’ refusal to acknowledge God as their Lord incites God’s punishment on them. Even today our faith in a higher power is a requirement for salvation. http://bibleblender.com/2018/bible-stories/old-testament/ezekiel/god-insists-on-recognition-obedience-ezekiel-judgement-is-on-hand-end-has-come-ezekiel-7-1-7-27

The disciples of John the Baptist went to Jesus and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not?” Jesus responds to John the Baptist’s disciples with beautiful analogies that explain his purpose on earth.
