Apple launches iPhone 5S and 5C

Apple launches iPhone 5S and 5C | Case studies marketing | Scoop.it

Apple has announced two new iPhones, for the first time splitting its flagship product between a premium product and a more affordable version.

The flagship iPhone 5S will feature a new chip that offers what Apple claims is desktop computer calibre performance, an improved camera and a fingerprint security scanner.  The iPhone 5C will use a plastic body and many of the internals of the existing iPhone 5. Both will feature the new operating system, iOS7, that Apple hopes will update its software to compete with newer versions from Google and Microsoft.

A New Look at the Value of Data to Marketers and the Economy - ClickZ | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert

A New Look at the Value of Data to Marketers and the Economy - ClickZ | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert | Case studies marketing | Scoop.it
New research from the Data-Driven Marketing Institute outlines the scope and flow of data through our data-driven economy.

Digest...

The Value of Data: Consequences for Insight, Innovation and Efficiency in the U.S. Economy shows that yes, the Data-Driven Marketing Economy is big--and has big impact. There are some surprising aspects, though, which may provide inspiration and opportunity for your business.

-- >  The Data Driven Marketing Economy (DDME) added $156 billion in revenue to the U.S. economy and fueled more than 675,000 jobs in 2012 alone.

-- >  The real value of data is in its exchange: 70 percent of the value of the DDME depends on the ability of firms to exchange data across it. This includes traditional practices to append public or behavioral data, as well as new practices like digital onboarding, which matches digital visitors and buyers with offline profiles.

-- >  Individual level consumer data helped marketers optimize expenditure on interactive and direct response marketing, both offline and on.

-- >  All firms that use data to strengthen customer profiles and optimize targeting, however, small businesses are the biggest winners in the DDME, because they rely much more on the flows of data than large firms (who already have more customers).

I think many of us would argue that the real benefit from a data-driven marketing strategy is the efficiency of operations, thus the reduced cost per lead. And I think the study took the easy way out by not tackling this factor.

Google To Upgrade All To Universal Analytics, But There's A D-I-Y Upgrade Tool Coming First - Marketing Land | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert

Google To Upgrade All To Universal Analytics, But There's A D-I-Y Upgrade Tool Coming First - Marketing Land | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert | Case studies marketing | Scoop.it

Excerpt...

The upgrade involves a new tool that will be available “in the coming weeks” in the admin section of all Google Analytics accounts. The screenshot below shows what it’ll look like.

Clicking the blue “Transfer” button starts a 24-48 hour process. When that’s over, upgrading the tracking code on your website(s) completes the transfer and opens the website to all of the features of Universal Analytics.

Whether you think you need Universal Analytics or not, you’re going to get it eventually. Google also announced today that all accounts will be upgraded to Universal Analytics whether they use this new D-I-Y tool or not:

Our goal is to enable Universal Analytics for all Google Analytics properties. Soon all Google Analytics updates and new features will be built on top of the Universal Analytics infrastructure. To make sure all properties upgrade, Classic Analytics properties that don’t initiate a transfer will be auto-transferred to Universal Analytics in the coming months.

For further information, Google suggests visiting the Universal Analytics Upgrade Center.
