Students that have a later start time are more likely to take advantage of the extra time of sleep they have, and they are reported to have less daytime sleepiness.

Total sleep time on school nights increased by an average of 33 minutes.

83 percent of the student's extra time was used with sleep when school started later.

Bus prices would not be as much with a later start time to the school day.

Because of hormonal changes in teenagers, middle and high school students should have a later start.

One proposal is to have elementary schools to start at 8:15 and secondary schools start at 9.

Teachers complained about it because they said it wouldn't give the students time to do after school activities, when really it would because practice would only have to go 30 minutes later than what it usually did.

Dearborn Public Schools are offering their high school students an option of a later start to their day if they want to do so.

students would start at 8:25 rather than 7:20 and get out of school at 3:20 instead of 2:15

Parents argue that they should not give students a later start because it doesn't prepare them for the real world.

Students like the later start idea because they said that they can function and focus better when they get a little more sleep.

Students, at an older age, start a phase where they need to go to bed later and wake up later. They need about 9 hours of sleep per night.

Class attendance approved with later start times, and there was less hospital related appointments due to fatigue.

The number of students that said they felt unhappy, depressed, annoyed or irritated dropped significantly with a later start time.

Starting school an hour later leads to less time watching television, more time working on homework, and fewer absences in each class.

Students get fewer than 7 and half hours of sleep per night when they are in high school, when they should be getting 9.

In earlier years they have tried to push school start times back to 9 am, but the congress stopped it.

It's impossible for students to get the amount of sleep they need with the start times they have now.

It's not healthy for the student's body when they constantly don't get enough sleep each night.
