When I think about the career advice that I have given throughout the years, the majority of the time I use the chess game in my story.

A chess games resembles a career journey with a clear career plan, because you know what your ultimate goal is, and each step you take should take you closer to where you want to be -- regardless of the obstacles that come your way.

If you don't have a career plan written down...why not?  You are worth it.

Great article!  In addition to the phrases: I also suggest to avoid using the word "no" during the screening interview.

The goal is to anticipate the questions, and to be prepared with alternatives and solutions.  For example, instead of saying no, I can't do that, no, I am not familiar with..  You should be able to say....I am familiar with xyz system, while I have not used at work before, it is very similar to abc system which I am currently using.  Or, I am currently taking classes on advanced excel and if hired I would be able to hit the ground running.

Make it a great day!
