Giant’s Anthem platform has long been the weapon of choice for cross country mountain bike riders. Since it’s inception it has been through many evolutions until it has become the bike that you see in front of you now. Every year the bike has shed weight, every year it has gained stiffness and responsiveness, and ever since the beginning the suspension and ride quality has been tweaked. It was Giant’s guinea pig for their very first dual suspension 29er and what they created was the ultimate race worthy cross country mountain bike and at the same time giving 29er mountain bikes a real driving force. For those who were brave enough to make the purchase their riders were rewarded with more control, shorter lap times and more podium finishes than ever before. This bike has been sorely missed for many years by the hardcore cross country racers in Australia and around the world. Just like the new 2013 XTC Advanced SL 0, this is a no compromise race machine – the best of the best. Compared to the superlight Anthem X Advanced 29er 1, the Anthem X Advanced 29er 0 just got lighter. The 2013 Giant Anthem X Advanced 29er 0 uses the first generation carbon Anthem 29er frame. The frame is hand crafted from Giant’s T-700 carbon fibre, the second stiffest on offer. Over the aluminium frame, the carbon fibre frame is 185 grams and offers a 7% increase in steering and 3% increase in pedalling stiffness. These are small figures but the difference in ride quality is noticeable – smoother, lighter, and faster. And, like all there frames, Giant backup all the years of hard work and testing they’ve done with a Lifetime Warranty. The Rock Shox SID 29 RCT3 front fork is one of the best SID packages on offer. A host of useable tuning options accommodate the package including; air pressure adjustments, rebound, and 3 position compression spring (open, platform and lock). Rock Shox’s BlackBox carbon fibre crown helps keep weight down and stiffness up. Like all Rock Shox products it’s very user friendly with sag gradients imprinted on the stanchion tubes and air pressure guide sticker on the fork legs. The rear shock is the top of the range Monarch RT3 which features similar adjustments. Our store also offers professional in-house after sales servicing of all suspension systems to make sure your new ride is performing at its peak. Drive system and brakes are kitted out the SRAM’s top of the range XX components. Only the best components are given the XX name. XX will shift and brake in the harshest conditions, so if you’re up to the challenge then so will the XX group set you ride. From local trails to the Work Cup race circuit, it will conquer anything. Wheels are what make or break a bike. The brief was to design the lightest and most durable carbon wheels on the market, something worthy of the Anthem X Advanced 29er 0. Giant delivered with the new P XCR 0 carbon wheel set.
