Participants of the new MOOC may pursue an official “UCF/EDUCAUSE Certified Blended Learning Designer” certificate for completion of the course if they submit a portfolio of the blended learning materials they develop throughout the course of the class.

BlendKit2014 begins on April 21 and is currently open for registration through the Canvas Network. For more details check out #BlendKit2014 on Twitter.

Yikes!

Freshman women spend upwards of 12 hours a day using some form of social media,

Nearly four in 10 college students said they could not go 10 minutes without checking one of their mobile devices.

But, reading newspapers and listening to music were associated with more/higher "academic behaviors."

Student Robotics and the K-12 Curriculum

Student Robotics and the K-12 Curriculum | BYOD in Education | Scoop.it

"Having been involved with student robotics programs for many years, I feel that robotics just may be the most perfect instructional approach currently available. It offers classroom activities that teach high-value STEM content as well as opportunities to powerfully address ELA Common Core Standards. In fact, there are connections to robotics across the full spectrum of the curriculum. Robotics is also a highly effective way to foster essential work skills like collaboration, problem solving and project management. It does all this while keeping kids so motivated and engaged that getting them to stop working and move on to the rest of the school day can be a challenge -- a good problem to have!"
