Nokia’s announcement that it will aim to cut 1,400 jobs as part of legally required layoff talks was preceded by talk of the company’s efforts to help those it sill soon make unemployed.
“The new situation is of course challenging for the individuals, but also full of possibilities,” said Esko Aho, former prime minster of Finland and current Executive Vice President of Corporate Relations and Responsibility at Nokia, on the company's website.

With the aim to help people to find new job opportunities or even start their own businesses.According to Nokia, the employees facing layoffs have four options: looking for new jobs inside or outside the company, for which the company will offer career advice and other support; entrepreneurship, for which Nokia will offer training; or then a change of career path, which Nokia also promises help with.This helped employees realise the may factors they are given in arriving at possibilities.
