Very different managerial style to that of SAF. Publicised fall-outs with notoriously difficult players and a 'confrontational management style' left Mancini isolated at the club. Football management is a cut-throat industry, and an interesting tweet at the bottom of the article reads 'Since Wenger last won a trophy at Arsenal (2005), all other 91 league clubs have changed their manager'. Despite winning three trophies in 4 years, his job still wasn't secure.

FC United, Manchester United's offset club created by fans who disapprove of the American ownership, seem to be growing in size. If fans of the parent club see the rising popularity of this smaller club, they may choose to also switch their allegiances. Glazers could find this problematic, because although United's fanbase is vast, any lost customers is an issue that needs tackling.

Insight into the club before SAF joined as manager. 3rd point down. In 1986, Ferguson implemented a ban on drinking during training, as 'he made it clear that things would be done his way'. Dramatically altered culture of the club and has led to the success the club has enjoyed under the manager thus far.
