What Is The Best Prepaid Android Phone?

What is the best prepaid Android Phone?  The best prepaid Android phone is one that you can afford.  It's insane to pay almost $100 per line for an Android Phone and data plan under a contract with one of the big three carriers. There are plenty of prepaid options out there for Android phones.  Especially if you are willing to supplement your data usage with WiFi.  Cricket, Straight Talk and Page Plus come to mind.  I looked at all three and Page Plus makes the most sense for me. Straight Talk uses the Sprint network for their Android phones.  So unless you are in an area that has good Sprint coverage this may not be an option for you. Cricket's Android smartphone plan requires that you pay for $55 per month for unlimited talk, text and 1Gb of data.  The problem with them is that if you want a smartphone you will have to pay a minimum of $55 per month. Page Plus will allow you "bring your own droid" and activate it on one of the nations largest cellular networks without a data plan.  What this means is that you can have an Android phone with unlimited talk and text (without a data plan) for as little as $10.  Their unlimited talk n text plan is $40.  If you want to you can have unlimited talk and text and use data only on a WiFi network.

How Do You Port A Phone Number

How do you port a phone number?  Many people stay locked into their cell phone contracts because they are afraid that they will loose their phone number if they switch providers.  It is actually a lot easier and faster than you think to port your cellular phone number. However there are a few things to consider before you port your number. Do not cancel  your service with your current provider until your new provider has initiated the port request.  This is extremely important.  If you allow your service to be cancelled before the port happens you will not be able to save your phone number Make sure that you will be happy with your new service provider.  Whether you are switching to another cell phone contract or a prepaid service you need ensure that the pricing and coverage makes sense for you and your family. Although you could be charged a "termination fee" from your old provider, they cannot deny your port request (even if you owe them money). Mobile-to-mobile port requests should only take about three hours.  Ports to or from a land line could take several days. You should continue to have use of your phone and service until the port is completed.
