Whether or not your business is a bricks and mortar business or a pure on-line enterprise, the management of your brand in different environments and for different market segments is becoming more complex and more important.

 

Shifting public perceptions now make brand positioning a more difficult task and amongst business owners and managers there now exist a number of mis-conceptions in respect to brand building.

Successfully positioning a brand can create that of 'monopoly' of the desired mind-space for the chosen audience. This article explains how to express strong and favorable associations with that of the desired target audience. And why the recognition and reputation between desired associations is important to a brand.

Great article on Brand positioning . Brand Positioning  plays a vital role in developing an overall brand strategy. The brand strategy is crucial to separate from competitors and be successful. The depth this article goes into surrounding brand positioning and building a brand strategy is very helpful. The article also talks about micro positioning , something i had never heard of before.

For this year’s back-to-school season, the brand launched the #Toms Give Back to School Contest aimed at increasing engagement on Pinterest.

 

They encouraged people to create a pinboard and pin their favorite outfits using only items found on the TOMS website. To compete for the $500 Toms gift certificate, pinners created a special board for the contest and tagged every pin with “#TOMS Give Back to School Contest.”

 

Toms scored huge brand awareness and sales during the contest as pinners posted beautiful pictures that spread across their personal networks. The campaign shows the expanding influence of visual social media sites, and in the coming years, more brands will take part in this growing trend....

This is so unbelievably smart! Koodos to the brilliant people who came up with this idea. Not only are you forcing people to look at your products for the chance to win, but they have to share there finding and that being said, all there friends and followers get to see the outfits they pinned too. The brilliance behing this marketting strategy simply blows my mind. Way to go TOMS.
