Nike is a very well known sports brand. by sponsoring the American football team they are getting advertising on the players jerseys. There is a positive when the teams are winning and a negative when the teams lose. Nike can be brought from most sporting stores and can be brought around the world. I feel that when you where Nike apparel you feel like you work out harder and are more comfortable.

I think this is like a software used for research purposes, to realise how consumers react to certain products, how much is the liking for the product or the brand image that drives the customers to like it, comment on it, or share it on certain social networking sites. It would be amazingly helpful if this software can accurately calculate the number of comments, shares etc done by consumers. We could also add an extra feature where the soft shows which country has been promoting the product through news feeds on social networking sites. Companies could use this information for effective promotions, make amendments at ads which are considered undesirable or unwanted by consumers, make announcements for gaining better interests etc

A program such as this will become very valuable as social media is growing. I feel that if i was a company I would make sure that we would invest in a program like this. Considering their are many social media websites there is a possibility that creating a link between pages so that a company could see what other pages the same customer is commenting on. This will gain customer insights into what the consumer is into.

I think what we need to understand here is that consumers not only connect themselves to the product, they are also linked to the company and its beliefs/ values earning brand image and brand loyalty for the company. Eg: Apple, rather than having a formal brand image, apple has a very casual branding, simplifying gadgets and giving them a human consumer friendly touch.
Consumers dont buy what you do, consumers buy why you do it, your belief, your passion. We need to connect at a level with consumers which is more emotional rather than just logical and practical.

I believe that you must believe in what you are promoting and selling. By Geoff making himself the face of his company people know that he uses the products and it gives consumers the confidence of purchasing. I know a lot of people that work for one company but prefer the oppositions products better. A great comment by Rutu “Consumers don’t buy what you do, consumers buy why you do it”. Companies should have a vision for their product or service. I have found this article that relates to this topic. The article talks about Core ideology, core values and core purpose are three very important values in a company.

I agree on how you must believe in your own product before you promote or share it to the world. If you have no confidence in the product then consumers wont be interested in what you are trying to sell. I know for a fact that when buying a product i have to be persuaded into believing how it can benefit me, and if i notice that the product lacks a positive brand image then i walk the other way. It is important that a company has an eye captivating brand image so that it can drawn the attention of consumers to make a profit.

I believe when a company is publishing ads on a conventional social networking site like facebook that has 800 million users, it becomes really important for companies to reach their target market in a highly effective, motivating, interesting manner to keep them linked with with the company and its products. It would be a disaster if the ads do not work as they are supposed to, because they might form a negative image in the minds of the consumers, it is a lot of money and failing on ads that are this expensive would not do for the company at all. But, there is also one downside to publishing your ads on facebook and that is, facebook has its own structure of how any company can publish its ads, this becomes a drawback for marketers who want to be creative with their ads, no wonder all the ads would lack luster and would be uninteresting to the consumers. Marketers should not individually depend only on Facebook, there can be better ways of promoting products as well, like academic blackboards can be updated with productive products, universities can be informed and subsidised rates can be given to students, long term relationships should be build with larger companies and marketing can be done within the companies to make the products more attractive to a larger group of people. Word of mouth should not be ignored, it is highly important as well

When I go onto a social media site the last thing i am interested in is an advert. Advertising on a social media site is inexpensive compared to advertising on tv or in a news paper. Ads on facebook and Twitter are not very creative, their is a lack of space to advertise. This creates a drawback for when ad agencies are creating adverts that are creative. I believe that adverts on social media sites will continue to grow but the question is will they become more effective or just an annoyance.

Internet marketing is by far the way of the future, it is an amazing tool that can help build a business reputation in many ways. i totally agree with you sarah, those types of ads can get really annoying at times which is why most people don't pay that much attention to it. from my experience i just ignore those silly adds because i have no time for them and most of the time they do not apply to whatever i'm looking for.

Personally, I feel rather than publishing articles online, it would be amazing if articles are published in some well known magazine that reaches a maximum target customers over a period of time. Online articles are helpful but not all consumers read it, if we wanna go by numbers, most of the consumers dont read them unless it is absolutely necessary. This could end up wasting the marketing budget if a company starts depending solely on publishing online articles on the basis of one success. I think marketing should be taken up into integration, a 360 degrees focus on all available marcoms and toold
