Thanks to Craig Cardimon for finding this one. I agree with all of these, especially the last three which are the most common mistakes, EXCEPT for #5.  It IS pronounced "for-tay" because it's for the Italian word that means strong or strength. It's used in music all the time! So, it's being prounounced correctly in Italian when it's said as "for-tay". It's similar to the use of French word, passé (pronounced pass-ay). The problem that word is that accent marks on the final "e" of each word is often not used since American/English QWERTY keyboards don't have that letter readily available. .

So guess what, author? Your co-worker was WRONG. I even looked it up to be sure. It's right in Bing Translator and the dictionary, for pity's sake. Maybe next time you can look it up, too.

Content is dead. Long live the conversation.

Content is dead. Long live the conversation. | Miscellaneous Items of Interest | Scoop.it
Does content marketing need to evolve so it doesn’t go the way of the humble pager?

"Content is simply one of many mediums to convey the real currency in which we all aspire to obtain: #TRUST "

Great insight shared between Geoffrey Colon and Chris Sheen

"Companies have become so focused on creating #content and #storytelling that they’ve stopped #listening to their customers."

"Trust is built on listening, talking, listening again. It's also built on admitting where your weaknesses are as much as your strengths."

"One-way communication is only ever going to last so long before people want to be able to respond and get their own opinion across. "

Brands need to establish a two way communication with their customers across all channels, in order to start building the right #relationship, earning trust and gaining #loyalty. Do you agree?

We see great opportunities in #visual #conversations via #mobile @SNAPCIOUS

There Is No More #Social #Media -- Just #Advertising

Eric_Determined / Eric Silverstein's curator insight, April 6, 2015 1:41 AM

Brands organic growth through #social #media has been replaced by advertising.

Is Advertising the only solution to reach out to your core customers?

How important is #mobile #engagement ?

As Mike highlights in this article, "whatever happened to communities as a way to directly connect with people as human beings. Over the years, that idealistic vision of genuine two-way exchange eroded. Brands got lazy by posting irrelevant content and social networks needed to make money.

Let's call it what it is: Social media #marketing is now advertising. It's largely a media planning and buying exercise -- emphasizing viewed impressions. Brands must pay if they really want their message to be seen. It's the opposite of connecting or listening -- it's once again broadcasting."

We developed @SNAPCIOUSas a way for brands to #visually engage their customers directly via their mobile platform, keeping a direct conversation between brand and #loyal fans, while leveraging multiple social networks. Reach out if you want a live demo!

Nathalia Prieto's curator insight, April 7, 2015 10:11 AM

Social media reaching maturity asks for a new approach - back to focus on humans and interconnections.
