Civil Rights Pioneer Gloria Richardson, 91, on How Women Were Silenced at 1963 March on Washington

Civil Rights Pioneer Gloria Richardson, 91, on How Women Were Silenced at 1963 March on Washington | Black Fashion Designers | Scoop.it
Fifty years ago this week, Martin Luther King Jr., John Lewis, A Philip Randolph, Bayard Rustin and other civil rights leaders spoke at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. But where were the female civil rights activists?
Bonnie Sandy's insight:

I've wondered about this. My interaction with many civil rights leaders of that era had me questioning the role and status of women. Hearing this from her is in line with my experiences while working in the community...  a woman should be seen and not heard. I'm learning and appreciating teh Bigger picture of this movement  for all. it has been said that White females have benefitted most from the civil rights movement. I   am focused on thepresent  50 years later ... how can technology facilitate the dream
