How to Stop Working and Go Home At Night

How to Stop Working and Go Home At Night | BizEng | Scoop.it
Many of us can't wait to pack up and head home at the end of a long workday: we count down the hours and as soon as our shift is up, we're out the door. For others, there's a stigma to leaving on time, or worse, we have a difficult time forcing ourselves to leave the office, whether or or not we love our work. Here are some ways to break the cycle of working late and get your evenings, and sanity, back.
Terry J. Benzie's insight:

Do you go home late? Do you want to go home earlier? This article has some decent ideas. When I am able to get out of the office on time, I use several of the technquies listed.

(Intermediate - 15 minutes. It's a long read and has some nice vocabulary for people working in an office environment.)

5 Travel Lessons You Can Use at Home

5 Travel Lessons You Can Use at Home | BizEng | Scoop.it
Rolf Potts is one of my favorite writers, and his book Vagabonding was one of only four books I recommended as “fundamental” in The 4-Hour Workweek.
Terry J. Benzie's insight:
This blog post (and embedded TED talk) by Rolf Potts is something more advanced English users may find interesting. A quick skim should be enough to let you have the main idea in 4-5 minutes through a deeper read will take 3 times that long. Print it off and save it to read on the MRT on the way home. The TED talk is related but probably not so interesting unless you really, really, really like the article.

Why Apple Was Right to Get Rid of the Headphone Jack -- The Motley Fool

The iPhone maker has courted controversy by ditching the headphone jack in its new phone, but it was the right move.
Terry J. Benzie's insight:
A fair take on the decision to remove the standard (or any) earphone jack from the iPhone.

Reading is easier when you understand something about what you are reading. Everybody has a smart phone and everybody has probably heard this news and everybody possibly has an opinion. Even if you don't understand every word, you will be able to get the general idea and decide if you agree.

s speakers in all four corners and the sound it provides easily outdoes any tablet in existence. You can feel the iPad Pro shake when music or sound with a lot of bass comes on. Nobody can fault Apple for making this the ultimate multimedia device — if you have almost $1,000 to spend on one.
It’s important to give points to the Apple Pencil, which has a more natural writing feel to it than any device by Microsoft. The Apple Pencil is even compatible with the iPad version of OneNote. It really is a sketcher’s dream come true. However, is being able to buy a high quality pencil for $99 a big asset
