Houston Texans open to trading No. 1 pick

Houston Texans open to trading No. 1 pick | NFL | Scoop.it
Texans owner Bob McNair and general manager Rick Smith both said on Friday that Houston would possibly be open to trading the No. 1 overall pick in May's NFL Draft.

Via BeltwayBoy Sports
Erick Scott's insight:

This is an  interesting topic because there hasn't been a team to ever trade the  number 1 pick. If the Houston Texans actually decide to trade this pick, there will be a lot of controversy between the fans and the organization.

They have some options and would be smart to explore them all before making a decision. They could trade down a few spots and get a QB and who knows what else another team may offer them to move up into that coveted top spot in a loaded draft class! Things will get very interesting!

Danny Zwierzynski's comment, April 8, 2014 1:15 PM
Well if they get more picks for the first pick then I think that would be a good deal. Plus there team is already good they just had a bad season. They will bounce back this year

Jadeveon Clowney declares for 2014 NFL Draft after Capital One Bowl | NFL | Scoop.it
Jadeveon Clowney is coming to the NFL, and declared for the 2014 NFL Draft immediately following the Capital One Bowl.

Via BeltwayBoy Sports
Erick Scott's insight:

This topic is interesting becuase Jadeveon Clowney is considered the top player in the upcoming draft. Jadeveon Clowney is definately a top 5 draft pick. He has had some problems with speeeding tickets in the past months but is still obviously the best defensive player in this draft. It will be interesting to see if he goes number one in the draft.

Danny Zwierzynski's comment, April 8, 2014 1:01 PM
But will he actually go in the first 5 picks of the draft? Or is he going to be a Tim Tebo and turn out to be a no one?!?
Kevin Irlbacker's comment, April 8, 2014 7:56 PM
Great news that he is declaring for the draft. He is a great player and any team would love to have him. I think the speeding tickets will be ignored considering how good he is.

I don't like seeing the NFL playing games overseas, sorry London. It's nothing personal, but I don't like it!

Max Ayers's comment, April 7, 2014 1:29 PM

Report: Johnny Manziel, Mike Evans will turn pro

Report: Johnny Manziel, Mike Evans will turn pro | NFL | Scoop.it
In stunning, shocking, totally unexpected news, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and wide receiver Mike Evans will enter the 2014 NFL Draft, according to NFL.com’s Gil Brandt. Both players accomplished all they could in college, to say the least.

Via BeltwayBoy Sports
Erick Scott's insight:

This is an interesting topic not becuase Johnny Manziel is entering the draft, but becuase no one knows where he will be drafted. He has the best natural football skills, but his offseason problems and the plays he makes might not fly in the NFL. It is going to be interesting to see where he falls in the draft.

BeltwayBoy Sports's curator insight, December 31, 2013 4:04 AM

I'm not shocked by this news and figured Johnny Football would be coming out after this season and it may be the best thing for his draft stock because it may never be higher than it is right now. What if he went back and got hurt next year? It could cost him a boatload of money. But now the debate about whether he will make it in the NFL is really going to heat up!

Danny Zwierzynski's comment, April 8, 2014 1:19 PM
He is not going to do good in the NFL. He got away from a lot in college but this is the NFL where everyone is ten times better then what college players are
