Restaurant is a place who provide food and service to customer. People who come to the restaurant is not only enjoy the taste of food but also want to concentrate to enjoy the food. Base on this criteria, Dutch restaurant serve customer with dining solo. This idea is so amazing. A person can come to the restaurant eating alone but Dutch restaurant focus on designing and serving especially for one person. The customer who like eating alone is a target of this restaurant. Dinning solo was create a private place who want to separate from the busy world outside. When you bring your friend to a restaurant for dinner, you may talk more than you eat, it can be slower of faster, and your meal is not really perfect. But this restaurant will build up the concentration that eating alone is a good thing. However, the limitation of this restaurant is the number of customer, because not many people like to eat alone.

People who like natural and enjoy their lunch or dinner outdoor. But the fee of rent the outdoor area is quite high, so that why the owner will charge more money of the same meal with people who sit outside. This thing will bring many benefit to all Council, Business owner and customer. For the Council, although reduce the fee of rent but otherwise, because the cost reduce, there are have more business owner will rent the outdoor area for their restaurant, so the percent of rent paid increase. The business owner will be so happy because he can save more money to spend for the other things. He will discount the price of each meal for outdoor dining. Customer love discount, so they will come more often and tell their friends, that is what the owner expected. Customer who have to pay for an expensive meal outdoor dining before now with the same meal, they pay less than or nearly touch the normal price if they eat inside. So, Randwick Council have decided a right thing that can make benefit for everyone.

Cat is a cutest pet and close to everyone. But cat café is the strange things for everyone. Normally, to decorate or make something change in a café shop, people can draw, put some more light, Flower… But decorate a café shop by cats is unique. Cat café was the first known in Japan, Cat is a traditional pet and very popular there. In Melbourne, open a cat café is so wonderful. It is so interesting when you go to buy drink and enjoy these cats. They slowly walk around you look so vivid. People who love cats will come here often and bring their friend, stay for a long time and order more drink, the business will get more benefit than the other normal café. That is a smart idea for a new business. However, there are some risk may happen if customer who allergy with hair of pet. The business owner need to make sure all drink must have airlocks. Customer can be scratch when they play with them.

Using Technology is the method that is very popular for many industries, including hotel industry. Accor is the name that is very famous with hotel system spread to over 40 countries all over the worth. Getting a high tech digital the check in process is a smart choice for the business. There are many benefit of using online check in for the guest. It’s is so convenient because they can direct check in from their home using smart phone or official computer. That is quite easy and quick to fill the form and don’t need to wait in line at the check in desk. The key will waiting for you in the reception area and when you come, just enjoy your holiday. Online check in is also bring benefit to the business that reduce cost for training staff. However, a negative side of using online check in is there are no interaction between reception and guest. It is should be fine with the hotel member because the reception already know about their information. But for the new guest, miscommunication can make the mistake if the guest want to change something or any require from. So the hotel should be aware about that. In general, check in online is the good method that all hotels should use it.

Canada-based Hotel Quebec is suing a former guest for $95,000. The reason? The guest wrote a negative review on TripAdvisor exposing the bed bugs in his room and refused to remove the review.

Reading reviews from Internet before making a decision is a really common thing that people do nowadays. It works for hospitality industry as well, because it is based on service, people want to know the previous experience that others had in the place that they want to visit. This article wrote about a hotel that sued a guest for posting bad review in TripAdvisor. It is very understandable that the hotel was afraid to get bad reputation because as human being, people tend to read the negative things instead of the positive one. Therefore, each negative point can affect their decision a lot. However, it is the guest’s right to write their real experience when they stay in the hotel. But in my opinion, guest should write their review without emotions. It has to be same as the real situation, not exaggerating. 
I really agree with Ravish Jhala when he saw this case from both points of view. Guest should had higher tolerance and gave the hotel the opportunity to fix their service while the hotel should make sure that the guest satisfied before leaving the hotel. It is about improving the response and communication from each party to another so there wouldn’t be any conflict or miscommunication again.

The castle hotel concept where the guests can live like a king is a very unique concept. Not only offer a unique feeling when the guests stay there, but it also a way to learn more about history. It is a different experience because nowadays all the buildings especially hotels are designed with modern new style. Besides, it gives pride to the guests because a lot of famous people have stayed there, for example former president of USA and celebrities. However, most of these castle hotels only located in the Europe, which may be a little bit hard to reach for people internationally and it costs a lot of money. But it gives a really good idea for other castles from all around the world. They can turn the unused castles become very unique hotels thus they can still keep the history there. Additionally, when a castle is turned into hotel, they need to maintain every aspect in it. They should keep all the furniture, antique collections, paintings, decoration and even how the people that work there dressed. Also, it is better if they provide the people with activities that the people who lived in the castle normally did before. All of those to give the full experience of living like a king.

Fair work commission what all staff expected when they receive their salary. Cutting the penalty rate on Sunday for casual employees, this change will reduce of labour cost on Sunday for restaurant and café. Staffs who working on Sunday don’t feel happy and willing to work with their enthusiasm. People like to go out and take a rest on weekend with their friend and family, so they will expect to work on weekend with the high fair work commission. However, cutting fair work commission on Sunday is not a bad thing like we see. Firstly, the benefit to the business owner is saving money and in one year the figure is very big. The owner can use this money to install new things for the business. Some business which close on Sunday, they may open again. It can create opportunity for new worker who has more chance to gain work expertise. In general, cutting the fair work commission is a way to save money for the business and business owner should be happy with that. For people who working casual time on Sunday, they just be cut not too much money, they still get pay more than normal day.

Bitcoin is quite new method of payment for everyone. People who like to travel should know about it. That is easy to install Bitcoin because it is just like download an app from phone or computer. The process of payment is so convenient like people using mail. Bitcoin will be suitable for young people and businessman who often travel. And it is also suitable even with the people who don’t know much about technology. The interesting of Bitcoin is faster than when people using credit card, it is only take an hour to confirm and it is also cheaper about 3 or 5 time compare with normal payment that is so excited. Convenient, Fast, Save money, these things should be a perfect payment that people should use, but otherwise it is very new and not many people know about it. Not many people using it so Bitcoin is not popular in the hotel industry. People has trend to using safer method, they are prefer use their credit card for payment and not many people want to try Bitcoin. Bitcoin are not accepted all hotel and people just can use Bitcoin in some famous Hotel where update the new payment, that is a limitation of this method. Bitcoin is an interesting method payment that need a long time to become popular for everyone.

Labour and skills shortage

 As the article mentioned that nowadays hospitality industry is facing labor shortage issues. I think it is really happening around but mostly it is about shortage of skilled labor. I am really agreed with the article that mentioned it happens because of high turnover rate and unsociable working hours. As we know that hospitality especially hotel is an industry that is available 24/7. Also, the busiest working time for the staffs is the time when everyone else is having rests, for example holiday. It makes the staffs have bad working hours, especially for the staffs with family because it is hard for them to have time with family. However, staffs with family are more likely the older people that have more experiences. Therefore, it causes the shortage of skilled labor. On the other hand, for the inexperience people, they often treat hospitality job as additional income or things to do in spare time only. They do not really treat hospitality industry as a career path for the future. Due to all these reasons, shortage in hospitality labor is more likely to happen.

To overcome this issue, government is trying to attract people from overseas to fill that gap. In my opinion, it is a really good way because there are many people that want to move to Australia. Government really benefit from this situation because they can filter what kind of people that they will accept according to the benefit that they can bring to the country. It helps both side to fulfill their own needs.

Discussion about hotel WiFi fees has become so inflamed you'd think dictators and human rights violations were involved.

Internet access is one of the basic daily things for people nowadays. Most of the public places provide internet access because people are expecting to get internet access wherever they go. Free wifi available almost everywhere and some people joke that it is even easier to get free wifi rather than free water. However there are some discussions recently about charging extra for wifi access in hotel. While in budget hotel or McDonald people can get free wifi with very low spending. From the hotels’ defence, they said that people who stay in hotel are less price sensitive and it is a disadvantage for the people who don’t use the internet access because they are paying he same amount of money.

However, since everyone started to use wifi and have more than one gadget especially these last few years, I think it is really important to provide free wifi. As a traveller, I never really expect that the hotels that I stay at have free wifi. However, when it does, I will give extra points for the hotel. It actually help hotel with free marketing as well because when people have internet access, they tend to share their location and what are they doing in social media. It becomes one of the most popular marketing ways nowadays.

It is very interesting that Provenance Hotels provide the accommodation for guests that want to bring their pets. In this article it said that the hotels are giving a promotion for pets to stay for free while normally the owner needs to pay extra $45. It is a really good way to attract more people to stay without much effort.

In general there are not many hotels that allow the guests to bring their pet along. However, lots of people do not want to leave their pets alone or want to have holiday with their pets as well. Therefore, having an accommodation for pet is a really good idea especially the hotels are located in the area where people love to bring their pets around. They take care of their pets very well, thus these hotels are perfect for them because the hotels will give the pets very good services such as pet bed, toy, treats, food, etc.

However, it may limit the guests to the people that like or bring pets only. Some people want to stay in hotel to relax and have quiet time to rest. It probably will affect their decision to stay in these hotels. Additionally, there will be extra cleaning needed when there are pets.
