Do you know what a ph scale is? A ph scale is a measurement guide to acidity and alkalinity. It is a sliding scale from 1 to 14 where 1 is completely acidic and 14 is completely alkaline. Free radicals and antioxidants

When we talk about free radicals, you must see them as the good guys who are produced by our bodies and antioxidants as the salvation to your bodies that come from outside. Free radicals are something that we all produce in our daily living. Free radicals are formed from the cells when our body produces energy. They are formed when we eat, live, breathe, do the daily chores or go to a job. When we live our lives, our cell in our bodies are introduced to different toxins. Stress is a big factor in our society. Stress is being amplified through your job, lack of sleep, bad eating habits (lack of nutrients), etc. Consequently, this creates more free radical damage to our bodies because your body needs more energy to compete with the stress factors. But there is a salvation that is called the antioxidants.

Homemade Chocolate Bars

Home made protein bars are GOLD! They do not need to be baked and is extremely quick to make. You know what is in them, you can vary the carbohydrate and protein content to match needs AND the flavour/ingredients to make them nutritious and delicious. It’s a great idea to make a big batch, place them in aluminium foil and store in the freezer. Perfect to take on trips/work/school/outings/etc. This recipe is one of my favourites and it tastes almost like eating a chocolate bar, but much healthier and with natural ingredients that will keep your blood sugar stable and saturating well on because of the relatively high protein content.
