Preventing Pleurisy?

Dana Kavanagh's insight:

Is there a prevention?

There isn't a prevention of this specific condition, but you can be put on medication to prevent Pleurisy from worsening. There really isnt a treatment for this condition unless a doctor has been told otherwise. It is hard to estimate approximatley how many people get Pleurisy worldwide. There are many different factors that cause this condiction for example- Bacterial infections such as pneumonia and tuberculosis, a chest wound that may have punctured the pleural cavity, a heart surgery implication and many more. Absolutley everyone is at risk of getting this condition, yet someone who is sickly or has had a chest injury or heart surgery is at a higher risk of contracting Pleurisy than most people.
