As a Baton Rouge Home Appraiser, I would agree that higher quality "real" hardwood floors do help sell your home, NOT that cheap, thin $1.50/sf installed wood laminate flooring. CARPET IS OUT and many homes I inspect don't even have carpet any longer, especially rental properties. I would say that in lower priced homes, cheaper wood laminate is better than carpet. And, just a tip that the darker the hardwood color you choose, the more dust bunnies will show and drive you crazy from time to time.
