Obama's Advantage On Foreign Policy

Obama's Advantage On Foreign Policy | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

Pew released public opinion data on the candidates' responses to the embassy violence in Benghazi : Across most demographic groups, far more of those who followed news about the embassy attacks approve of Obama’s handling of the situation.

Obama is at a 51% improval of the situation on a poll tracker average. Foreign relations and policies can be of benefit to our country in many ways, and I would like to see someone more experienced in handling these situations rather than someone whom is not experienced. There is more to the presidency than managing the economy.

Romney on FEMA Government Spending

We are all well aware that our deficit needs to be paid off- Although that Is impossible to achieve all at once. our tax dollars need to go to other government agencies to help our citizens; For example, health care programs, our military, navy, air force, the education department, and many more. Not with the exclusion of FEMA, of course. If Romney were to be elected right now, circumstances in New Jersey would be dire from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Fema would not be there to assist the disaster victims, and I personally know far too many people that would be completely homeless without the aid of FEMA.

Obama on the other hand, does not want to eliminate important government agencies that are crucial to our country. He realizes that our debt is of great importance, but the welbeing of American citizens is also important. His plan for government spending is balanced between giving back to American citizens, and paying off our debt. Though Romney may be able to get us out of debt faster, his plan will not do good for the welbeing of US citizens.

Are more federal regulations on guns and ammunition needed?

Are more federal regulations on guns and ammunition needed? | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

"We should check someone's criminal record before he can check out at a gun seller; an unbalanced man shouldn't be able to buy a gun so easily; there's room for us to have reasonable laws that uphold liberty, ensure citizen safety and are fully compatible with a robust Second Amendment."

I support Obama on his stance because I believe that guns should not be given out to just anyone, and that there is always room for us to have laws that will ensure our safety. Romney does not intend to make any new laws concerning gun regulations. He states "I believe we need to focus on enforcing our current laws rather than creating new laws that burden lawful gun owners." Which I do not agree with at all.

Obama on Health Care

Obama on Health Care | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

Through the Affordable Care Act, President Obama has taken action to make health care more affordable for families and protect consumers from insurance company abuses. I support Obama on this because healthcare is crucial to society. No one should go broke, just because they get sick.

On the contrary, Mitt Romney would end guaranteed benefits and turn Medicare into a voucher program, which will end up in senior citizens spending thousands more on health insurance.

President Obama "End Tax Cuts For Rich"

In a speech given in July from the White House, President Barack Obama came out and said "let's end the tax cuts for the rich." In the past, tax breaks for the rich have been in effect, and we have been lead to believe that it would trickle down and help the middle and lower classes, yet, it hasn't. Tax cuts for the rich should absolutely be put to an end, and they should have raised taxes in order to give back to our economy.

Mitt Romney has no plans to end tax cuts for the rich, and wants to leave that issue alone.

President Obama’s Record on National Security and Defense

President Obama’s Record on National Security and Defense | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

President Obama has taken action to refocus our national security priorities by ending the war in Iraq, taking the fight to al-Qaeda, and reducing the threat of nuclear weapons. I strongly agree with Obama's position on Foreign policy. In opposition, Romney has no plan to end the war in Iraq, states that “It’s not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.” when asked about Bin Laden. He has also not outlined any policies concerning the threat of nuclear weapons.

President Obama on the Economy

President Obama on the Economy | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

Romney and Obama have the same view on this, though Obama has a more clear plan.

"small businesses will get a tax cut if they hire new workers or if they raise workers' wages. Pass this jobs bill, and all small business owners will also see their payroll taxes cut in half next year."

Small businesses need tax cuts in order to prosper in today's economy, and though Obama and Romney both recognize this, Obama clearly has a better plan in order to regulate the crumbling of small businesses.

Labor Laws- How Wall Street Reform Is Working for You

President Obama believes that everyone should "play by the same rules". He passed the Wall Street Reform to hold big banks accountable and give consumers tools to make informed decisions for themselves. Mitt Romney would roll back all of these reforms, letting Wall Street and big corporations write their own rules.

Should gay marriage be legal?

Should gay marriage be legal? | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

I am 100% for legalizing gay marriage, and though Obama was undecided for a while, he made it clear before the election that he was for gay marriage. "At a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married"

Romney opposes Obama and states "I believe we should have a federal amendment in the constitution that defines marriage as a relationship between a man and woman, because I believe the ideal place to raise a child is in a home with a mom and a dad" Which I disagree with completely.

NORTH AMERICA!!!!!   Political: There are pros and cons for gay marriage in America.  I believe the pros our weigh the cons becuase I honestly do not see and real problem with gay marriage.  If a man loves another man, who cares.  They have found someone who loves them and that is all that matters.  The government is ruining peoples happiness with their loved one.

Obama and Romney on alternative energy

Obama and Romney on alternative energy | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

Climate change isn't a hoax- and Obama has the right plan to turn our planet towards the right direction. we need to increase oil and natural gas production, but we also need to build on the progress of energy sources of the future. Although Romney mentions energy sources of the future in his campaign, he does not plan on investing a fair amount of money in them- and I feel that a fair amount of money should absolutely be invested in energy sources of the future. We can't live off of coal and oil forever.

Obama and Romney both agree that we should me monitoring who comes into, and who goes out of our country, and i stongly agree with the both of them. America has its own problems to sort out, and it should not be complicated with more and more immigrants coming to reside here and contribute to our problems in the economy.

President Obama's Record on Education

President Obama's Record on Education | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

President Obama has prioritized education by taking steps to fix our schools, invest in teachers, and reform student loans to make college more affordable for students and their families. Romney, on the other hand, has made claims that he is going to roll back Obama's student loan reforms. He said that students who were unable to afford college or start a business should just “borrow money from your parents.” He wants to cut back on teachers, and In his first year as governor, Mitt Romney cut funding for community colleges in Massachusetts by 17%. By 2006, tuition in Massachusetts was 59% higher than the national average.

President Obama on Jobs and the Economy

President Obama on Jobs and the Economy | Barrack Obama | Scoop.it

President Obama has taken action to restore middle-class security by creating jobs, rescuing the auto industry, and reforming Wall Street.

President Obama has a plan to bring jobs back to the U.S. by eliminating tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas, and creating incentives for businesses to bring jobs back to America.

Mitt Romney has no plan to get rid of tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas, and wants to eliminate taxes on American companies’ foreign profits, which would actually encourage more outsourcing.

I agree with President Obama on this issue because it is necessary to create more jobs, and discourage outsourcing as much as possible.
