A well known Iranian Baha'i has been killed, however there is no focus on the fact that because he was a Baha'i follower,he will go to heaven because in the Baha'i faith "Heaven" represents the joy experienced by a soul that is spiritually close to God, while the torments of “hell” symbolise the suffering a soul endures when it is spiritually far from its Creator. Heaven and Hell are not seen as destinations in the afterlife, but the condition of the soul before and after death. Lolu Ncukana

Ataollah Rezvani, a well-known member of the Iranian Baha’i community has been killed.Even though the Baha'i faith was founded in Iran, it is banned by law in the Islamic republic.Baha’is believe that 'heaven' is determined by the degree to which a person tries to reflect the true Teachings revealed by God’s Prophets in his life. Ataollah's death is therefore an indication of him being in 'heaven'

This is a podcast or radio show which reveals the perspective of a member of the Baha'i community (Glenn Darling). He shares how he embraced the Baha'i faith and we are also exposed to interviews of people who have also chosen the Baha'i faith. Something that I found very interesting when researching the Baha'i faith is something that was written by ‘Abdu’l-Baha, Baha’u’llah’s Son, where he explains that from one person to the next differences can be significant:

“For example, the eye and the nail are living; but the life of the nail in relation to the life of the eye is nonexistent. This stone and this man both exist; but the stone in relation to the existence of man is nonexistent….

“In the same way, the souls who are veiled from God, although they exist in this world and in the world after death, are, in comparison with the holy existence of the children of the Kingdom of God, nonexisting and separated from God."  __Lolu Ncukana

THY WILL BE DONE OH LORD...

THY WILL BE DONE OH LORD... | BAHAI FAITH | Scoop.it

As the sun tenderly oozes across the meadow, Mirza Omar, with incredible gentility, begins to rub, with pungent, aromatic oils, the belly of his pregnant wife.

Stroking, ever so softly, and chanting the Greatest Name,
Mirza Omar invokes the grace of God; for he knows well
that his consort through all the worlds, is as pure and sweet
as the mountain stream that twists and winds its way past
their humble hovel, nestled on the edge of the only meadow,
in the sprawling jackpine forest.

The gravity of the moment, and of each passing second, is
now etching itself deeply into the face of the mother of this
unborn gift from God, conceived on the cusp of menopause,
by one who had long ago relinquished any possible hopes
for a child.

Calling on the concourse to beseech the All Knowing, Mirza
Omar surrounds himself with silent prayer, imagining himself
to be prostrating at the Throne of the King of Kings. In the
midst of his silence, this gentle giant, pours out his heart and
shares his deepest desires with the Master of the Universes.

Now, in a voice so soft as to be almost inaudible to all save
the Sovereign of the kingdom of eternity, Doa offers up her
life, in exchange for that of her unborn child. And a single
tear glides across the face of this true angel of humility.

"Oh Lord of the Ages," she begins. "I offer up my life for
this tender soul that you have seen fit to have planted in me.
I am prepared to depart this earthly realm at this very instant."

Sensing her husband's heartache, Doa concludes by saying
"oh Thou the Compassionate life giving Creator, my good
husband full well knows that I would pray this prayer if it need
be done. Thy will be done, oh God. I surrender to You."

At that very second, a lustrous soul, much beloved by its
Maker, begins to wing its flight unto the Abha Kingdom. The
All Mighty, Prayer Hearing, Prayer Answering, God, has granted
the desire of one of His faithful servants, at the very moment
that the midwife is knocking on the door.

In less than the blink of an eye, the Lord of All the Worlds
accepts a simple heartfelt prayer for what it is. The ultimate
sacrifice. And Mirza Omar drops dead on the floor.

Tablet of Carmel - Recited By Glenn Darling

The Tablet of Carmel written by Baha'u'llah is a short tablet of only a few pages, but it is considered one of the charters of the Bahá'í administration. It consists essentially of a conversation between God and Mount Carmel. In it, God says to the mountain: "Render thanks unto thy Lord, O Carmel. The fire of thy separation from Me was fast consuming thee... Rejoice, for God hath in this Day established upon thee His throne, hath made thee the dawning-place of His signs and the dayspring of the evidences of His Revelation... Beware lest thou hesitate or halt. Hasten forth and circumambulate the City of God that hath descended from heaven, the celestial Kaaba round which have circled in adoration the favoured of God, the pure in heart, and the company of the most exalted angels... Ere long will God sail His Ark upon thee, and will manifest the people of Bahá who have been mentioned in the Book of Names."
This document established that Mount Carmel would be the physical location of the Bahá'í World Centre. Thus, what you see in the video is just the start of what the Baha'is will build on Mount Carmel.

TRAPPED IN TIME

TRAPPED IN TIME | BAHAI FAITH | Scoop.it

The old woman couldn't help but shiver as the scene unfolded before her. It was as if time had missed a step, for now she saw the essence of her youth. A fiery time of lust and longing, of desire and decadence.

It was not the best of times, but it was her time. And now, in the twinkling of an eye, it had begun to re-play. Only this time she was an observer, and not the bold little hussy that had played out the same scene over six decades ago.

The essence of what was real so long ago, was made even more so in the present. For this dear soul now had the gift of hindsight. As the old woman beheld the most bitter sweet days of her long ago past, she felt a presence that had eluded her these many years. It was a feeling that she was not alone. The same feeling she had on a particular night so very long ago. A night she thought she had forgotten.

As the scene unfolded before her very eyes, she saw that which occurred, all those years ago, as if it were happening now. The sounds and the smells were more than real. She stood riveted in place, as the years stripped away.

Now the night air was thick with the smell of aftershave and roll-your-owns. A cover for the two sweat soaked, unmarried souls, entwined as one, but without the bond of marriage. The end result of that long ago evening, was actually a beginning. But a beginning with a very short end. The resulting child was a boy. He was stillborn.

She named him Russell William, after his great grandfather. Now, all these many years later, she felt that same chill again. There was no doubt about it. And she was scared. For in all this time she had not thought about the baby that would now be 63 years old.

As the moon moved out from behind a rather ominous cloud, the old woman could clearly see a man standing in front of her with his arms outstretched towards her. Beckoning her forward. And she was powerless to deny him. In the fraction of a second it takes to say no, she was in his arms. And for the very first and last time on this earth she held her baby boy, as he welcomed her across the great divide.

This video is about the passing away of Baha'u'llah of the Baha'i faith on the 29th of May 1892. Baha’u’llah made it clear that there are natural spiritual consequences for ignoring or breaking God’s laws while in this world even though these consequences may not be obvious on earth. According to Baha'u'llah, Divine Justice requires every individual to bear responsibility for his actions and there is no need for a physical hell.  Lolu Ncukana
