ibeatyou - http://www.ibeatyou.com

ibeatyou is a site where people can go to compete against other people by posting videos or photos of themselves doing certain things.  They can also take timed quizzes that are created by people and earn points.

I think this would be a fun website to use in class to help students learn content.  Either I could create quizzes for them to take, or students could create their own study quizzes and invite their classmates to take them.  I think it would help kids be more engaged and get them more interested in learning.

Science, technology, environment and health news and discussion from the makers of the NPR public radio program Science Friday with host Ira Flatow.

This website would be a great tool for students to use to learn about current issues and discoveries in science.  The information they find could be used to spark class discussions about their opinions on different issues and could help them discover what they find interesting.

YouTube would be very useful in the classroom.  I could show different science videos to the students that would get them interested in the topic they are learning.

One Ocean: The Nature of Things with David Suzuki: CBC-TV

Enter the ocean and experience it in a very personal way. Explore the past, present and future of the world's oceans and our race against the clock to save them.

I think that this would be a great tool to use to introduce students to the ocean biosystem.  It is very interactive and would be a good way for them to explore the different kinds of life in the ocean and also how the different ecosystems are affected by things such as pollution and overfishing.
